The Municipality of Radovljica (; sl, Občina Radovljica) is a municipality in the Upper Carniola region of northern Slovenia. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Radovljica.Radovljica municipal site


Geography

The municipality has around 18,000 inhabitants and an area of . It is located at the southern slope of the Karawanks mountain range at the confluence of the Sava Dolinka and the Sava Bohinjka, both headwaters of the Sava, Sava River.

Lesce
Lesce () is a town in the Municipality of Radovljica in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is an industrial and tourist centre. It is one of the earliest-mentioned settlements in the region, first noted in a document from 1004 together with Bled and Bohinj. In the centre of the old town there is a three-aisled pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, originally a Gothic church with remnants of 14th-century frescos on its exterior, but which was extensively changed in the 17th century in the Baroque style. The church is known for its frescoes in the dome of the presbytery painted by Franc Jelovšek. Lesce is the location of the Lesce–Bled Airfield and Šobec Campground. Lesce is also the home town of retired ski jumpers Vinko Bogataj and Franci Petek. Lesce was selected by MTV as the site for its annual Spring Break Jam in the spring of 2009. Kropa () is a settlement in the Municipality of Radovljica in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Name The settlement was first attested in 1498 as ''Chropp'' or ''Krupp''. It is believed to derive from the identical hydronym (now Kroparica Creek), first attested in 1481 as ''pach Khrappa'' or ''Khroppa'', which has its source at Kroparica Spring ( sl, Izvir Kroparice) above the settlement. The hydronym is derived from the Slovene common noun ''kropa'' 'powerful spring'. Metalworking It is known for its traditional smithies, which produce a variety of decorative metal fittings. Kamna Gorica () is a village in the Municipality of Radovljica in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Hlebce
Hlebce () is a village in the Municipality of Radovljica in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Name Hlebce was attested in historical sources in 1338 as ''Chlepz'' (and as ''Chlebts'' in 1359 and ''Chlebcz'' in 1416). The name is probably an old locative form derived from Slavic ''*chlębь'' 'dell, shaft, chasm', referring to a local geographical feature. History A number of buildings several centuries old stand in Hlebce; they are the remnant of a manor farm that belonged to Katzenstein Castle in Begunje na Gorenjskem.
