Maryland Route 575
Maryland Route 575 (MD 575) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Worcester Highway, the state highway runs from U.S. Route 113 (US 113) in Friendship north to MD 589 and US 113 in Showell. MD 575 is the old alignment of US 113 in northern Worcester County. The state highway was assigned in 2000 when US 113 was relocated as a four-lane divided highway through the area. As part of the overall project to expand US 113 to four lanes from Berlin to the Delaware state line, 14 unsigned auxiliary routes of MD 575 were designated on old alignments or service roads between 2002 and 2004. Route description MD 575 begins at a right-in/right-out interchange with northbound US 113, also known as Worcester Highway, in Friendship. There is no access to southbound US 113. Right-in/right-out (RIRO) and left-in/left-out (LILO) refer to a type of three-way road intersection where turning movements of vehicles are restricted. A RIRO permits only right turns and a LILO permits only left turns. "Right-in" and "left-in" refer to turns from a main road ''into'' an intersection (or a driveway or parcel); "right-out" and "left-out" refer to turns ''from'' an intersection (or a driveway or parcel) to a main road. RIRO is typical when vehicles drive on the right, and LILO is usual where vehicles drive on the left. This is because minor roads usually connect to the outsides of two-way roads. Maryland Route 610
Maryland Route 610 (MD 610) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for most of its length as Whaleyville Road, the state highway runs from the county-maintained portion of Dale Road near Whaleyville north to U.S. Route 113 (US 113) near Bishop. The first segment of MD 610 was constructed near Whaleyville in the mid-1930s. The highway to Bishop was brought into the state highway system in the 1940s. MD 610, which did not originally reach US 50, was extended south to that highway, now MD 346, in 1955. Maryland And Delaware Railroad
The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company is a Class III short-line railroad, formed in 1977 to operate several branch lines of the former Penn Central Railroad in both Maryland and Delaware, United States. These branches were omitted from the system plan for Conrail in 1976 and would have been discontinued without state subsidies. As an alternative to the higher cost of subsidizing Conrail as the operator of the branch lines, the Maryland and Delaware governments selected the Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company (MDDE) to serve as the designated operator. The railroad did not own any of the track it uses until 2000 when it acquired a line between Frankford, Delaware and Snow Hill, Maryland, from the Snow Hill Shippers Association. Selbyville, Delaware
Selbyville is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. Its population was 2,167 at the 2010 census, an increase of 31.7% over the previous decade. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Selbyville was founded in 1778 and incorporated in 1902. Known as the Ocean City Expressway, the state highway runs from U.S. Route 50 (US 50) near Whaleyville to MD 528 in Ocean City.
