Züm
Züm (pronounced Zoom, IPA: /zuːm/) is a bus rapid transit system for the suburban city of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, northwest of Toronto owned and operated by Brampton Transit. There are connections to the City of Mississauga, York Region, and the City of Toronto, with the first corridor having started service in fall 2010. The first phase calls for three corridors operating in mixed traffic, similar to York Region Transit's (YRT) Viva network. Phase 1 became fully operational by fall 2012. A key aspect of the Züm plan is increased service on supporting local corridors. Unlike other, similar, services and partly due to Brampton's geographic position farther from Toronto than other suburbs such as Mississauga or Vaughan, many Züm corridors will overlap significantly with other agencies' services, requiring more complex, co-operative planning between neighbouring cities. Brampton Transit (BT) is a public transport bus operator for the City of Brampton in the Regional Municipality of Peel, and within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Ontario, Canada. 561 Züm Queen West is an express bus route in Brampton, Ontario that was introduced on September 6, 2016 as part of Züm phase 2. It runs from Mount Pleasant GO Station where it connects with 505 Züm Bovaird and continues west along Bovaird Drive, south along Mississauga Road, and east along Queen Street to Downtown Brampton Terminal. The route currently operates only on weekdays during rush hours and midday. This is mainly due because of the widening project along Queen Street from Chinguacousy Road to Mississauga Road is still ongoing or lower ridership that as it is on 501 Züm Queen. The Brampton Transit 1 Queen shares the entire length with this route and operates 30 minutes or better all day, every day. 501 Züm Queen
501 Züm Queen is a bus rapid transit route in Brampton, Ontario that is part of the Züm network. The route first began service on September 20, 2010, and currently has three branches running between either the Downtown Brampton Terminal or Bramalea Terminal in the west to eastern termini at either the or Toronto Transit Commission subway stations in Vaughan or Toronto, respectively. Route 501 and 501A branches operates eastward along Queen Street from the Downtown Brampton Terminal, with the 501C branch originating at the Bramalea Terminal. The base route continues along Highway 7 in Vaughan and terminates at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station. 502 Züm Main is a bus rapid transit route in Brampton, Ontario which leads south into Mississauga, Ontario. The second corridor, which began service on September 6, 2011, runs from Sandalwood Parkway in the city's north end to MiWay's City Centre Transit Terminal near the Square One Shopping Centre in the south. It travels via the Downtown Brampton and Brampton Gateway terminals along Main and Hurontario Streets through Brampton and Mississauga. It covers the route of current route 2, which has frequent rush-hour service. Route 502 extends and replace MiWay's route 102 InterCity Express. 505 Züm Bovaird
505 Züm Bovaird is an express bus route in Brampton, Ontario. This route began service on September 2, 2014. The headways are 15 minutes during peak periods and 20 minutes off peak. This route does not operate during early mornings on Sundays and late evenings on all days. This route duplicates service with 5 Bovaird and 5A Bovaird (between Mount Pleasant GO and Airport Road) before turning south and duplicating with the 30 Airport Road, and 5A Bovaird. 511 Züm Steeles
511 Zum Steeles is a bus rapid transit route in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The final corridor outlined in Phase 1 started service on November 26, 2012. The route runs from the Brampton Gateway Terminal at Steeles Avenue and Hurontario Street to Humber College North Campus at Finch Avenue West and Highway 27 in Toronto with connections to the planned Line 6 Finch West line and various express bus services, via Bramalea GO Train Station. Though largely industrial through Brampton, Steeles Avenue sees bus service every six minutes on current route 11. This is the only planned corridor to operate almost entirely within Brampton city limits. In September 2015, limited service on 511 Zum Steeles was extended to Lisgar GO Station operating only on weekdays. Eventually, full service on the entire route were implemented. The Downtown Terminal is a Brampton Transit bus station serving the central area of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It is located a block north of the intersection of Main Street and Queen Street, the two main streets in downtown. There is direct access to Via Rail and GO Transit trains at the adjoining Brampton GO Station. The Presto card (stylized as PRESTO) is a contactless smart card automated fare collection system used on participating public transit systems in the province of Ontario, Canada, specifically in Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa. Presto card readers were implemented on a trial basis from 25 June 2007 to 30 September 2008. Full implementation began in November 2009 and it was rolled out across rapid transit stations, railway stations, bus stops and terminals, and transit vehicles on eleven different transit systems. York Region Transit (YRT) is the public transit operator in York Region, Ontario, Canada. Its headquarters are in Richmond Hill, at 50 High Tech Road. YRT operates 65 full-time, rush hour and limited routes, 35 school services, and six Viva bus rapid transit routes. Five contracted Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus routes run within York Region's boundaries (one in Vaughan and four in Markham). Passengers who cross Steeles Avenue (the Toronto–York boundary) on these routes must pay an additional fare (the YRT or TTC fare) to continue their trip(s). Mississauga City Centre Transit Terminal
The City Centre Transit Terminal in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada is the main transit hub and bus station for MiWay, the city's public transit system. The station is situated in Mississauga City Centre at the northwest corner of Square One Shopping Centre, and buses using the terminal display "Square One" on their destination signs. Buses use the upper level, while access from the mall is on lower ground via crosswalk (no direct connection), where a taxi stand and kiss and ride are located.
