Wayne K. Curry
Wayne Keith Curry (January 6, 1951 – July 2, 2014) was an American politician. He was elected as the executive for Prince George's County, Maryland in November 1994, and served two terms as the county executive from December 1994 to December 2002. His career encompassed government, civic, and community affairs for more than 20 years. Early life and education Curry was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 6, 1951, and grew up in Cheverly, Maryland, a community in the northwestern portion of Prince George's County. His family was the among the first non-white families to integrate into this community in the 1950s. His father was a school teacher, and his mother was a homemaker and later an office secretary. Robert Ehrlich
Robert Leroy Ehrlich Jr. (born November 25, 1957) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 60th Governor of Maryland from 2003 to 2007. A Republican, Ehrlich represented Maryland's 2nd Congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003. Before that, he was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. In 2006, Ehrlich was defeated in his bid for re-election by Democrat Martin O'Malley. In 2010, Ehrlich sought an unsuccessful rematch against O'Malley. University of Maryland Laurel Medical Center was a community hospital located in unincorporated Prince George's County, Maryland, near Laurel. The facility now operates as a free-standing Emergency Department and outpatient clinical and surgical center. History Laurel Regional Hospital was proposed in 1972. Construction funds were approved by Prince George's County Executive Winfield M. Kelly, Jr. in 1975 for a $14.5 million hospital. The building was constructed in 1978 as the "Greater Laurel-Beltsville Hospital" for $20 million.
