WGKB (1510 AM) is a radio station licensed to Waukesha, Wisconsin and serving the Milwaukee area. The station is owned by Good Karma Brands, through licensee Good Karma Broadcasting, LLC. WGKB has an FM translator W269DL (101.7 MHz), which transmits from the WITI TV Tower in Shorewood, and currently broadcasts a talk radio format aimed towards Milwaukee's Black community. History The 1510 AM frequency originally signed on as WAUX and later was the original home of the WAUK call sign until February 12, 2008. They had been a sports talk station since October 1994 and the previous home of ESPN Radio. Prior to sports the station had a smorgasbord of formats, including variations of adult contemporary, country music, and talk. WAUK (540 AM) is a commercial progressive talk radio station licensed to the Washington County community of Jackson, Wisconsin, and serving the Milwaukee metropolitan area. It is known on-air as The Sha 101 FM in reference to the station's Waukesha based FM translator. The station's studios and offices are in downtown Waukesha making it the only station based in the city with a physical presence. The station is owned and operated by Civic Media with locally programmed progressive talk programing. WLOL (1330 AM) is a radio station in the Twin Cities region of Minnesota. It broadcasts a Catholic Radio format and is part of the Relevant Radio network. WLOL's transmitter is located along the Minnesota River in Savage. History WLOL, named for the "Land Of Lakes", is one of the area's most legendary set of call letters. WLOL's history is intertwined with many other local frequencies over the years. The first incarnation of WLOL signed on at 1300 AM on June 16, 1940 and was a part of the Mutual Broadcasting System, a national radio network in the United States. Studios were a1730 Hennepin Avenue at Oak Grove Street across from Loring Park, approximately in the current-day airspace over the westbound lanes of I-94 exiting the Lowry Hill Tunnel.
