WJIS
WJIS 88.1 FM, known on air as The JOY FM, is a Christian adult contemporary station serving North, Central and Southwest Florida, including the Sarasota/Bradenton and Tampa Bay areas, and is owned by the Radio Training Network. Network On April 19, 2021, RTN launched The Joy FM on WNUE-FM 98.1, which the organization concurrently filed to buy from Entravision Communications for $4 million. During most of 2013, WJIS was also simulcasted on 91.7 WFTI-FM in St. Petersburg; that station would cease operations in fall 2013, to allow for upgrades of adjacent channel WCIE and co-channel WJFH. The Radio Training Network also has ''The JOY FM''-branded stations in Dothan, Alabama (WIZB); Montgomery, Alabama ( WPHH); Athens, Georgia ( WMSL); and Atlanta / Macon, Georgia (WVFJ-FM and WWWD), though these stations do not repeat WJIS 24/7. Radio Training Network, Inc. is an American non-profit broadcasting organization that operates several networks of Christian radio- formatted stations, mostly in the Southeast. The network's footprint includes stations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina. The network is based in Port Richey, Florida. WDVH-FM is an FM radio station licensed to Trenton, Florida and broadcasting to the Gainesville- Ocala, Florida radio market on 101.7 MHz. Bradenton ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Manatee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city's population is 55,698. History Late 18th and early 19th centuries A settlement established by Maroons or escaped slaves named Angola existed in Bradenton's present area starting in the late 1700s and ending in 1821. It is believed to been spread out between the Manatee River (then known as Oyster River) all the way to Sarasota Bay. The community is estimated to have had 600–750 residents in it. Angola was a rather large maroon settlement as the Manatee River at that time was too shallow for US Navy vessels to navigate. Effective radiated power (ERP), synonymous with equivalent radiated power, is an IEEE standardized definition of directional radio frequency (RF) power, such as that emitted by a radio transmitter. New Port Richey is a city in Pasco County, Florida, United States. It is a suburban city included in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
