Tweety
Tweety is a yellow canary in the Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of animated cartoons. The name "Tweety" is a play on words, as it originally meant "sweetie", along with "tweet" being an English onomatopoeia for the sounds of birds. His characteristics are based on Red Skelton's famous "Junior the Mean Widdle Kid." He appeared in 46 cartoons during the golden age, made between 1942 and 1964. Personality and identity Despite the perceptions that people may hold, owing to the long eyelashes and high-pitched voice (which Mel Blanc provided), Tweety is male although his ambiguity was played with. Mel Blanc
Melvin Jerome Blanc (born Blank ; May 30, 1908July 10, 1989) was an American voice actor and radio personality whose career spanned over 60 years. During the Golden Age of Radio, he provided character voices and vocal sound effects for comedy radio programs, including those of Jack Benny, Abbott and Costello, Burns and Allen, The Great Gildersleeve, Judy Canova, and his own short-lived sitcom. The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries
''The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries'' is an American animated television series produced by Warner Bros. Animation which aired from September 9, 1995 to February 5, 2000 on Kids' WB. The final episode, containing the segments "The Tail End?" and "This Is the End", was never shown on Kids' WB, not premiering until December 18, 2002, when the show aired in reruns on Cartoon Network. 52 episodes were produced. Premise The show follows Looney Tunes characters Sylvester and Tweety, along with their owner Granny and bulldog Hector (Sylvester's foil in many 1950s era shorts, here given a redesign similar to Marc Antony), as they solved mysteries around the world. Robert Bergen (born March 8, 1964) is an American voice actor. He voices Warner Bros. cartoon characters Porky Pig and Tweety and has voiced characters in the English dubs of various anime. He formerly hosted the children's game show '' Jep!'', adapted from the game show ''Jeopardy!'' Joseph Francis Alaskey III (April 17, 1952 – February 3, 2016) was an American actor, voice actor, broadcaster, impressionist and stand-up comedian. Alaskey was one of Mel Blanc's successors at the Warner Bros. Animation studio until his death. ''Ain't She Tweet'' is a 1952 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on June 21, 1952, and stars Sylvester and Tweety Bird. The title is a play on the song "Ain't She Sweet." Plot Sylvester stands outside a pet store window, watching Tweety (singing "Fiddle-De-Di") in the display area. Tweety angers Sylvester after the bird goes over to a mouse and they laugh at the cat, who throws a brick at the window in response. However, upon seeing a cop walk up behind Sylvester, the would-be feline vandal runs in front of the brick and absorbs the blow. Emma Webster, better known as Granny, is a Warner Bros. Cartoons character created by Friz Freleng, best known from ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' animated shorts of the 1950s and 1960s. Greg Burson
Gregory Lewis Burson (June 29, 1949 – July 22, 2008) was an American voice actor. He was best known as a replacement for voice actors Daws Butler and Mel Blanc following their deaths in 1988 and 1989, respectively. Career Burson was trained by Daws Butler, who was his acting mentor and one of his influences. Following Butler's death, Burson inherited most of his characters, starting with Yogi Bear on ''The New Yogi Bear Show'' and many other characters in Hanna-Barbera-related shows.
