Trash (band)
White Trash were a Scottish pop group who recorded briefly for Apple Records in 1969. Made up of ex-members of the Pathfinders and the Poets, they were given the name White Trash by Richard DiLello, the Apple liaison officer who wrote a book about his times at the label called '' The Longest Cocktail Party''. DiLello also penned most of the biographies for the label's artists. The name White Trash, was also in use in the United States by Edgar and Johnny Winter but being deemed offensive in Britain, the British White Trash changed their name to the one word, Trash, on their last Apple single. The band issued only four tracks on two singles on Apple; both A-sides were covers: Gerry Goffin and Carole King's "Road to Nowhere", and Paul McCartney's "Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight"; although Trash's version was released a week before the Beatles' version on their forthcoming album ''Abbey Road''. Trash and Vaudeville is a store located at 96 East 7th Street between Avenue A and First Avenue in East Village in Manhattan, New York. The store is associated with the clothing styles of punk rock and various other counter culture movements, and has been a leading source of fashion inspiration since its inception by owner and founder Ray Goodman in 1975. Trash (nightclub)
Trash was a popular London indie and electro nightclub run by Erol Alkan. The club was held weekly on Monday night. The first night was in January 1997, while the last was 10 years later in January 2007. It first existed at the original Plastic People in Soho, then at neighbouring venue The Annexe on Dean Street, before finally finding a home at The End off New Oxford Street in the West End of London. It was influential in terms of pioneering and popularising new genres of music, such as the garage rock revival and electroclash, with early performances from bands such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, Bloc Party, and Klaxons. The two founding members, Bruce Carter and Danny Saville, previously played in the band Nylon Pylon, who were signed to London Records and supported The Music on their 2003 Tour. ''Sesame Street Fever'' is a concept album made by the cast of Sesame Street in 1978. It follows the characters as a love of disco sweeps Sesame Street. The album heavily parodies '' Saturday Night Fever'', and the cover features Grover where John Travolta should be, and Ernie, Bert, and Cookie Monster in the place of the Bee Gees. Bee Gee Robin Gibb also appears on the album, and according to the LP's liner notes, "appears courtesy of his children Melissa and Spencer Gibb".
