	Tillinghast Licht Tillinghast Licht LLP was a Providence, Rhode Island based law firm, from 1818 to 2008. Established in 1818 by Charles Foster Tillinghast, Sr., a scion of one of the oldest families in Rhode Island, it was one of the oldest law firms in Rhode Island. In 1816, Tillinghast was admitted to the Rhode Island bar and opened his first office, in the village of Chepachet. The following year, he returned to Providence and partnered with Samuel W. Bridgham, under whom he had studied at Brown University. Six years later, Tillinghast opened his own office. In 1842, Tillinghast partnered with Charles S. Bradley, who would later become Rhode Island's chief justice. In 1843, Tillinghast represented Providence for a single term in the Rhode Island General Assembly. Tillinghast & Bradley was well known in Rhode Island until the firm dissolved in 1858. picture info	Tillinghast L'Hommedieu Huston Tillinghast L'Hommedieu Huston (July 17, 1867 – March 29, 1938) was an American civil engineer and businessman. He co-owned the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball with Jacob Ruppert from 1915 to 1923, turning them from one of the worst franchises in baseball into a World Series contender. A civil engineer by trade, Huston worked for Cincinnati's waterworks before forming a company of volunteer engineers in the Spanish–American War. He was commissioned as a captain, earning him his nickname. He stayed in Cuba after the war as a private contractor, rebuilding infrastructure in Cuba and earning his personal fortune. Returning to the United States, Huston partnered with Ruppert to buy the Yankees in 1915. Together, they used their wealth to acquire talented players who improved the team, including Babe Ruth. picture info	Tillinghast Mill Site The Tillinghast Mill Site is an historic industrial site in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The site is the location of a cotton mill established in 1812 most likely by Allin Tillinghast and Joseph Joslyn Tillinghast. The mill was more formally known as the Mount Hope Factory. The mill initially produced cotton yarn, but later made printed cloth, carpet, and twine. At its height the area included 25 mill worker houses as well as the waterworks, wood frame mill structure, and four story factory. The mill was in operation until at least 1905, but now only the foundational remnants of the mill and the waterworks remain. The mill site was purchased by the town of East Greenwich in 1969 and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The site is now part of Frenchtown Park, situated behind the Recreation Department Building, and can be accessed via Frenchtown Road. 	Tillinghast Road Historic District Tillinghast Road Historic District is a historic district encompassing a rural landscape in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Extending along Tillinghast Road, a winding two-lane road, southward from its junction with Frenchtown Road, it includes seven farm complexes dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. One of them, the Thomas Tillinghast Farm, located at the above-named junction, is the site of the New England Wireless and Steam Museum, some of whose buildings contribute to the district's significance. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
