''The Passionate Quest'' is a 1926 American drama film directed by J. Stuart Blackton and written by Marian Constance Blackton. It is based on the 1924 novel '' The Passionate Quest'' by E. Marian Constance Blackton
Marian Constance Blackton (January 18, 1901 – December 12, 1993) was an American screenwriter and actress active primarily in the 1920s. She was sometimes credited as Marian Constance. Biography Marian was the daughter of film producer J. Stuart Blackton and his wife, Isabelle Mabel MacArthur. Her siblings include filmmaker J. Stuart Blackton Jr., actor Charles Stuart Blackton (half-brother), and actress Violet Virginia Blackton. She grew up on film sets, thanks to her father's career, and knew early on that she wanted to get into the industry for herself. "Location trips with my father's company were my idea of heaven," she once remarked. Vera Lewis
Vera Lewis (June 10, 1873 – February 8, 1956) was an American film and stage actress, beginning in the silent film era. She appeared in more than 180 films between 1915 and 1947. She was married to actor Ralph Lewis. Biography She was born in Manhattan, where she began acting in stage productions. Her film career started in 1915 with the film ''Hypocrites'', which starred Myrtle Stedman and Courtenay Foote. From 1915 to 1929 she appeared in 63 silent films, including the film classic '' Intolerance'' (1916) where she played the "old maid" Miss Jenkins. Frank Russell Butler (December 28, 1889 — June 10, 1967) was an American film and theatre actor and later an award-winning screenwriter, born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England to parents Frederick Butler and Sarah Ann Hedges. His son, Hugo Butler, also became a Hollywood screenwriter. Career Theatre His theatre career included two appearances (1920s–1930s) in Broadway-theatre productions in New York City. Film work Butler's film career started with silent films in the early 1920s. He appeared in almost fifty films and wrote more than sixty screenplays. This included the 1937 film ''Champagne Waltz''. Nora Cecil (September 26, 1878 – May 1, 1951) was an English-born American actress whose 30-year career spanned both the silent and sound film eras. Career Stage Cecil's career began on the stage, when she debuted in London at age 19. She appeared in the Broadway production ''The Sleeping Beauty and the Beast'', which ran for more than 240 performances at the Broadway Theatre in 1901–1902. (A 1930 newspaper article says that Cecil "made her debut, three decades ago, on the London stage.") Film Cecil appeared in well over 100 feature films and film shorts.
