The Double (2011 Film)
''The Double'' is a 2011 American spy film directed by Michael Brandt, written by Brandt and Derek Haas, and starring Richard Gere, Topher Grace, Stephen Moyer and Martin Sheen. The film tells the story about a retired CIA operative working with a rookie FBI agent to solve the murder of a US senator caused by a Soviet assassin. It was released on October 28, 2011. The film garnered negative reviews from critics, and was a box office bomb. Plot Two FBI agents are conducting surveillance at a warehouse. As U.S. Senator Dennis Darden walks out of the door, he is approached by an assassin from behind who slits his throat and escapes. The agents rush to the scene to find the man dead. However, they could not identify the assassin as he committed the murder in darkness. Later, CIA officers arrive on the scene and take charge. Michael Brandt
Michael Brandt (born October 1, 1968) is an American writer and director. Life and career Brandt is an alumnus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where as an undergrad he earned a BBA and in graduate school earned Master of Arts in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Film. His Master's Thesis focused on digital nonlinear editing and the effects of the tool on the final film product. While studying at Baylor, Brandt met frequent collaborator Derek Haas. In the late 1990s, Brandt and Haas began collaborating on screenplays long distance, while Haas lived and worked in Atlanta. They optioned their first spec script, '' The Courier'', in 1999 while Brandt was working as an assistant editor for Robert Rodriguez on the set of ''The Faculty'' in Austin, Texas. Yuri Sardarov, aka Yuriy Sardarov, (born January 28, 1988) is an American actor and producer. He has done extensive work in the theater. He starred on NBC's '' Chicago Fire'' until season 8. Early life Yuri Sardarov is half- Georgian and half- Armenian; he moved to the United States at age two as a refugee. His parents and grandparents were musicians.
