Televisa Regional is a unit of Grupo Televisa which owns and operates television stations across Mexico. The stations rebroadcast programming from its subsidiary TelevisaUnivision's other networks, and they engage in the local production of newscasts and other programs. Televisa Regional stations all have their own distinct branding, except for those that are Nu9ve affiliates and brand as "Nu9ve ". Televisa traditionally has had agreements with independent station owners to supply programming for local stations. Emilio Azcárraga Jean
Emilio Fernando Azcárraga Jean III (; born 21 February 1968) is a Mexican businessman who currently serves as the chairman of both mass media company Televisa and professional football team Club América. In 1997, at the age of 29, Azcárraga Jean became the CEO of Grupo Televisa – which had been founded by his family in 1973 – following the death of his father Emilio Azcárraga Milmo. He led Televisa for twenty years, and was credited with the financial turnaround of a highly indebted and struggling company. XHGC-TDT (channel 5) is a television station owned by Grupo Televisa, broadcasting from Mexico City, and is the flagship of the Canal 5 network. History XHGC signed on May 10, 1952, broadcasting a Mother's Day event organized by the Excélsior newspaper, but regular programming began on August 18, 1952. The station was established by Guillermo González Camarena, a Mexican engineer who was one of the inventors of modern color television; the station's calls reflect his surnames. XHTV-TDT (virtual channel 4), founded in 1950 by Romulo O'Farril, is a flagship TV station of Televisa and carries its Foro (TV channel), FORO news network. Raúl Velasco Ramírez (April 24, 1933 – November 26, 2006) was a Mexican host/ producer of the TV show ''Siempre en Domingo'' (''Always on Sunday'') which is his hallmark contribution to the Latin American world and eventually to other parts of the world where Spanish entertainment programs are broadcast. Velasco began this program as co-host of a Sunday afternoon special in 1969 called ''Domingos Espectaculares'' (''Spectacular Sundays''). One of his catch phrases was, "Aún hay más" ("There's more to follow"). For a short while, ''Siempre en Domingo'' was known as ''Aún hay más'' because he would always say these words prior to each intermission or commercial, with the hand gesture that corresponds to a request for a commercial break, similar to what Frank Sinatra might have said or sung, ''The best is yet to come. . .'' Televisión Independiente de México (''Independent Mexican Television'', known on air as TIM or Cadena TIM) was a Mexican national television network founded in 1965 by Eugenio Garza Sada. It operated until 1973, when it merged with its primary competitor, Telesistema Mexicano, owned by Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta, to form the Televisa conglomerate.
