Televisora de Costa Rica S.A., known as Teletica is a Costa Rican television broadcaster, founded in 1958. It operates Teletica Canal 7, XperTV Canal 33, and, since 1991 (partially since 2018), CableTica (now called Liberty). History In October 1958 an agreement was signed that gave rise to Televisora de Costa Rica S.A., Teletica Channel 7. Mario Echandi, President of Costa Rica, decided to grant licenses to public television. Two men were his predecessors, René Picado Esquivel and Carlos Manuel Reyes and his wife Andreina Otalvaro. On May 9, 1960 the first television broadcast was held. In the same year, the first newscast of Costa Rica would be created, called the word of Costa Rica, which one month later changed its name to what is now known as Telenoticias. In 1962, Teletica transmitted the visit of then US President, John F. Kennedy. ''Bailando por un Sueño'' is a franchised TV series in various Latin American countries. Meaning "Dancing for a dream", it is a reality series that commenced on the Mexican television network Canal de las Estrellas, in which celebrities are partnered with common, everyday people with dreams they want to fulfil, who each week compete against each other in a competition to impress a panel of judges. In each show, the two couples who receive the lowest score go head to head against each other to survive potential elimination. ''La Carabina de Ambrosio'' is a Mexican television show created and developed by Humberto Navarro, filmed at the Televisa Studios, Chapultepec in Mexico City, from 1978 until 1987. The slogan of the show was "A Magical, Comical, and Musical Variety Show." The show had guest emcees that included César Costa, Gualberto Castro, Fito Girón, and Manolo Muñoz.
