TSSAA
The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), along with the affiliated Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA), is an organization which administers junior and senior high school sporting events in Tennessee. The TSSAA (commonly pronounced "Tee double-S double-A") is the only high school athletic organization in the United States to have a five-sport, Olympic-style spring sport championship tournament, known as ''Spring Fling'', for baseball, softball, track and field, team and individual tennis, and soccer. Spring Fling began in Chattanooga in 1993, later moving to Memphis, and then establishing itself in Murfreesboro. The TSSAA was one of the first high school athletic organizations to host a central site for football championships, beginning in 1982. Maryville High School (Tennessee)
Maryville High School (MHS) is currently a three-year public high school with grades 10–12. It was founded in 1918 in Maryville, Tennessee and is a part of the Maryville City Schools system. In the 2009–2010 year, there were approximately 1,558 students enrolled, and the senior class consisted of 352 students. With 107 faculty members, the staff-to-student ratio was approximately 1:15. The school principal is Heather Hilton. Maryville High School has been designated by the Governor of Tennessee as an A+ school. Five National Merit Finalists graduated from Maryville in 2003. Northpoint Christian School
Northpoint Christian School (NCS) is a private, coeducational, college preparatory Christian school located in Southaven, Mississippi. NCS was founded in 1973 by a group of Baptist ministers in the Whitehaven section of Memphis, Tennessee. Programs for kindergarten through Grade 8 began in 1973, and grades 9- 12 were added the following year. The school is dually accredited with SAIS and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. NCS is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, the TAIS, and the TSSAA. Tucker Stadium
Tucker Stadium is a 16,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Cookeville, Tennessee. It is home to the Tennessee Technological University Golden Eagles team, and is named for former coach Wilburn Tucker (1920–1980). The football field is named Overall Field in honor of former coach and administrator P. V. Overall. The stadium opened in 1966 and currently seats 16,500. Tucker Stadium has hosted the TSSAA high school football state championships since 2009.
