''Svensktoppen'' () is a weekly record chart airing at Sveriges Radio. Until January 2003, the songs had to be in the Swedish language. Svensktoppen has aired since 1962, except for the years 1982-1985. The last years before the January 2003 change, the programme was strongly dominated by dansband music. Carolina Norén
Krång Anna Carolina Norén (born 29 January 1965) is a Swedish radio presenter for Sveriges Radio and television presenter. She has been the host of the music chart show Svensktoppen since 2007 and also commentates on Sveriges Radio's broadcasts of Melodifestivalen and the annual Eurovision Song Contest. She took the first steps to a radio career when she participated as an interviewer at the legendary Radio SBC in the Stockholm community radio in 1980-82. She also made some appearances at Stockholm University's student radio station, which eventually led her to being employed by Radio Stockholm through Sveriges Radio between 1989 and 1997. In 1998, she moved to P4 Riks in an attempt to make the radio channel more youth-oriented. She presented, among other, the entertainment show ''Curry-Curry'' which was broadcast on Friday nights. Dansband
(; "dance band"), or in Norwegian and Danish, is a Swedish term for a band that plays ("dance band music"). ' is often danced to in pairs. Jitterbug and foxtrot music are often included in this category. The music is primarily inspired by swing, schlager, country, jazz, and rock. The main influence for rock-oriented bands is the rock music of the 1950s and 1960s. The terms ' and ' were coined around 1970, when Swedish popular music developed a signature style. The genre developed primarily in Sweden, but has spread to neighbouring countries Norway, Denmark and the Swedish-speaking regions of Finland. Arne Georg Fredrik Weise (28 February 1930 – 25 September 2019) was a Swedish journalist and television personality, one of the presenters for Sveriges Television (SVT). He worked at Sveriges Radio from 1952 and started working for SVT in 1979. Early life Born in Malmö, Arne Georg Fredrik Weise was the son of engineer Per Weise (1897–1991) and Ingrid Tengström (1893–1987). He grew up in Malmö and Gothenburg and did his high school education at Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet, passing his studentexamen in 1950. P4 (''pe fyra'') is a national radio channel produced by the Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Radio. P4 was started in 1987 as a network of regional stations, but national programming was added in 1993 when P3 was relaunched as a specialist youth channel and P4 took over a large part of P3's former programming intended for a more adult audience. Programming Targeted at an across-the-board audience, but with the emphasis on older listeners, it is the corporation's most popular radio channel, presenting popular music, entertainment, and sport. Sven Gustaf Lindahl (born 25 June 1937, in Stockholm) is a Swedish journalist, songwriter, radio and television presenter. As a teenager, he played in a boogie-woogie band. After leaving school, he worked briefly as a welding apprentice in Luton and later studied at an iron foundry in Chesterfield, but eventually came to study journalism at Poppius Journalistskola before he started working at the local newspaper Västerort.
