Sodhi
Sodhi () are landlord people from Khatri or Kshatriyas clan from the Punjab region. Seven of the Sikh Gurus, from Guru Ram Das to Guru Gobind Singh were of Sodhi surname. In the Bachittar Natak Guru Gobind Singh wrote the origin of Sodhi clan and described them as linear descendants of Lava, one of the twin sons of Sita and Rama. Ish Sodhi
Inderbir Singh "Ish" Sodhi (born 31 October 1992) is a New Zealand cricketer born in Punjab, India who represents the New Zealand national cricket team in all formats, and Canterbury in domestic cricket. Murder Of Balbir Singh Sodhi
Balbir Singh Sodhi (1949 – September 15, 2001), a Sikh-American entrepreneur and franchisee in Mesa, Arizona, was murdered in a hate crime in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. This was the first of several cases across the United States that were reported to the police as supposed acts of retaliation for the attacks. Balbir Singh Sodhi, who had a beard and wore a turban in accordance with his Sikh faith, was profiled as an Arab Muslim and murdered by 42-year-old Frank Silva Roque (July 8, 1959 – May 11, 2022), a Boeing aircraft mechanic at a local repair facility who held a criminal record for an attempted robbery in California. Roque had reportedly told friends that he was "going to go out and shoot some towel-heads" the day of the attacks. Roque was sentenced to death ( commuted later to life imprisonment) for first degree murder. He died in prison on May 11, 2022. Ronjan Sodhi (born 23 October 1979 in Ferozepur, Punjab, India) is an Indian Double trap shooter. He won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games. Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi (born 9 January 1954) is an Indian Politician and a Bharatiya Janata Party Leader in Punjab and a former International Shooter. Sodhi was earlier in Congress Party and has been a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Guru Har Sahai in Firozpur district of Punjab since 2002. Political career He became a member of the Youth Congress in 1976. He had been elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017 consecutively. Reetinder Singh Sodhi (born 18 October 1980) is a former Indian cricketer. He was an all-rounder from Punjab, was one of the options that Indian selectors had while looking for a quality players, who can bowl and bat. He was the key member of India's first under 19 world cup winning team Sodhi made his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe at Cuttack in December 2000. Bachittar Natak (or Bachitar/Bichittar) (Gurmukhi: ; ''bacitara nāṭaka''; literally 'Resplendent Drama') is from Dasam Granth, ang (page) 94 to ang 175 of the 2326 ang. It is generally attributed to the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. Although the word "Natak" means "drama" in Punjabi, this is no drama. The writer has outlined the circumstance and history of the time and how great courage and strength was required to overcome the many hurdles that were upon the community. It starts with a praise of the God "Akal Purukh". It then gives a genealogy starting from King Surya, King Raghu, King Aja, King Dasrath to Lord Rama and his two sons Lav and Kush. It gives the author's own biography and includes the Battle of Nadaun, Husaini battle and the arrival of prince Muazzam in the Punjab. It continues up to AD 1696. The Guru Granth Sahib ( pa, ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ) is the central holy religious scripture of Sikhism, regarded by Sikhs as the final, sovereign and eternal Guru following the lineage of the ten human gurus of the religion.
