Sergio Bonelli
Sergio Bonelli (2 December 1932 – 26 September 2011) was an Italian comic book writer and publisher. He is best known as creator of '' Zagor'' (1961) and ''Mister No'' (1975), as well as a comics publisher through the publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore. He was born in Milan, the son of Gian Luigi Bonelli, the creator of ''Tex Willer'' and many other Italian comic strips. In order to distinguish himself from his father, he usually wrote his scripts under the pen name Guido Nolitta. He made his debut as a scriptwriter in 1957, with the translation into Italian of the Spanish series '' Verdugo Ranch'', for which he wrote the final episode (artwork by Franco Bignotti). In 1958 Bonelli created his first character ''Un ragazzo nel Far West'' ('A boy in the Far West'), also illustrated by Franco Bignotti. Gallieno Ferri (21 March 1929 – 2 April 2016) was an Italian comic book artist and illustrator. He was born in Genoa. In 1960 Ferri met writer Sergio Bonelli Sergio Bonelli (2 December 1932 – 26 September 2011) was an Italian comic book writer and publisher. ''Dylan Dog'' is an Italian horror comics series created by Tiziano Sclavi and published by Sergio Bonelli Editore since 1986. The series features the eponymous character, a paranormal investigator who takes on cases involving supernatural elements such as ghosts, demons, vampires, undeads, werewolves and other creatures, but also horrifying sociopathic criminals and serial killers. It defies the whole preceding horror tradition with a vein of surrealism and an anti-bourgeois rhetoric. Dylan is supported mainly by his trusty sidekick Groucho (a Groucho Marx lookalike) who adds humour to this grisly genre and Dylan's sombre temperament. Francesco Gamba (December 21, 1818 – May 10, 1887) was an Italian painter, mainly of seascapes. Biography He was born in Turin to Alberto, a main auditor for the Court of King Charles Albert of Sardinia. His father was named Baron in 1835. His mother was Marta Borgnis di Mannheim. Francesco's brother Enrico Gamba was also a painter; his brother Alberto, a doctor. Both became prominent academics in Turin. Francesco initially studied law, but soon quit his college studies to sail for months around the Mediterranean and Europe. He returned to Turin to enroll in the Accademia Albertina, and in 1842, he participated in the Promotrice exhibition in Turin. Aurelio Galleppini (28 August 1917 – 10 March 1994), better known with his nickname Galep, was an Italian comics artist and illustrator, best known as graphic creator of ''Tex Willer'' in 1948. Biography Galleppini was born at Casale di Pari. In 1948 Gallepini created '' Occhio Cupo'' and ''Tex Willer'' (both written by Gian Luigi Bonelli). Galep drew Tex Willer's adventures from 1948 until his death. Many other illustrators alternated with him on the pages of this popular comic book.
