Sefer Reis
Sefer Reis ( Ottoman Turkish:سفر) (died 1565) was a Turkish privateer and Ottoman admiral who was active against the Portuguese in the Indian Ocean in the 16th century. Life There is almost nothing known about Sefer Reis' origin and family background. He was of either Turkish origin. The strategy of Sefer Reis was different from that of his predecessors in that he never tried to storm a fortress, transport troops or land siege equipment. From hard years of experience, he knew that the strength as well as the weakness of the Portuguese lay in the sea, and he concentrated his operations on Portuguese ships so that his victories were not measured in hectares of conquered territory, but in captured vessels and increased custom revenues in Mocha, Jiddah and Suez. Sefer Turan (born 1962 Afşin, Kahramanmaras, Turkey) is a Turkish journalist and author. Turan was educated in Egypt and he knows Arabic very well. Career Sefer Turan is one of the few Middle East experts in Turkey. He served as a head of foreign news department at the Channel 7 TV station. He prepared and presented "the East & West" program at the ULKE TV. Turan monitored Afghanistan and Iraq wars. His most remarkable works are on Palestine case. He prepared programs on Second Intifada, Palestine-Israel and Lebanon-Israel conflicts. ''Sifrei Kodesh'' ( he, ספרי קודש, , Holy books), commonly referred to as ''sefarim'' ( he, ספרים, , books), or in its singular form, ''sefer'', are books of Jewish religious literature and are viewed by religious Jews as sacred. These are generally works of Torah literature, i.e. Tanakh and all works that expound on it, including the Mishnah, Midrash, Talmud, and all works of ''halakha'', Musar, Hasidism, Kabbalah, or ''machshavah'' ("Jewish Thought"). Bela Šefer () was a Yugoslav footballer. He was a forward and he played one match in the Yugoslavia national team, named Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes at the time. Hoca Sefer
Hoca Sefer ( 1536–38) was an Ottoman captain in charge of pro-Ottoman forces in Gujarat in the first half of the 16th century. Hoca Sefer, who had been installed by the Ottoman captain Selman Reis, attempted to maintain Ottoman influence in Diu against the Portuguese, who had established the Diu Fort there. Franjo Šefer
Franjo Šefer ( sr, Фрањо Шефер ; german: Francis Schaeffer or ; born 1905 in Vienna) was a Yugoslav tennis player of Austrian-Jewish descent. Early life and family Franjo Šefer was born in 1905 in Vienna to a Jewish family. They moved to Karlovac in 1910, where he made his first steps on the tennis court. Šefer was often trained with another prominent player from Karlovac, Alexander Podvineć. Šefer joined HAŠK, where Krešimir Friedrich and Nikola Antolković played. Tennis career Franjo Šefer played for the Kingdom of Yugoslavia Davis Cup team starting in 1928. In 1933 he also became the team captain. Three times in a row he was a champion of Yugoslavia (1929, 1930, 1931). He won seven titles altogether, counting the men's and mixed doubles, and he scored a victory over Franjo Punčec at the international tournament in Bled with 6:4, 6:1.
