Rockwall Independent School District is a public school district based in Rockwall, Texas (USA). In addition to Rockwall, the district serves the cities of Heath, McLendon-Chisholm, Mobile City, most of Fate, and small portions of Rowlett, Wylie, Garland, and Dallas in Rockwall County. The district also extends into a very small portion of northern Kaufman County, including sections of Heath and Travis Ranch. A very small section extends to Collin County. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. Core Values for Rockwall ISD include: Relationships, Innovation, and Excellence. History Rockwall ISD was established in 1841. In 2012 the district had 14,427 students, and in 2013 it had a budget of $100 million and over 1,500 employees. Rockwall County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. At 149 square miles, Rockwall County has the smallest area of any Texas county. Per the 2020 Census, its population was 107,819. Rockwall-Heath High School
Rockwall-Heath High School is a school located in Heath, Texas, USA, and is one of two high schools that serve the Rockwall Independent School District, the other being Rockwall High School. The school enrolls students from 9th to 12th grade. It is a Texas Recognized School. The school opened in 2005 and completed its second phase of construction in 2010 that included a new fine arts wing, a band hall and a 1500-seat auditorium, and Wilkerson-Sanders stadium. Approved and signed in 2007 during the RISD bond election, it is the most expensive bond in the history of RISD at $198 million. The school bond also includes two new schools (Celia Hays Elementary School and Sharon Shannon Elementary School), planning for a third high school, and the conversion of Utley Freshman Center into a middle school. Rockwall High School is a high school that is part of the Rockwall Independent School District located in Rockwall, Texas. The average class size is around 600 and the school achieves an average graduation rate of 98%. Athletics The high school offers baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, track and field, football, powerlifting, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling. In the 2015 season, the Yellowjacket football team went undefeated in district play and ended up 10–4 in the overall season. The wrestling team won state championships in 2001 and 2002.
