Rockbjörnen
Rockbjörnen (Swedish: ''the Rock Bear'') is a music prize in Sweden, divided into several categories, which is awarded annually by the newspaper ''Aftonbladet''. The prize was first awarded in 1979, and is mostly centered on pop and rock. In 2010, Rockbjörnen was redone and focused more on live performances. This initiative was hailed by artists and industry. The period for selecting the winners of Rockbjörnen was extended from one month to three months (all summer). Roxette
Roxette was a Swedish pop rock duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, the duo became an international act in the late 1980s, when they released their breakthrough second album '' Look Sharp!'' Their third album '' Joyride,'' released in 1991, became just as successful as its predecessor. Roxette went on to achieve nineteen UK Top 40 hits, and several US Hot 100 hits, including four US number-ones with "The Look", " Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", featured on the soundtrack of '' Pretty Woman'', and " Joyride". Kid Down
Kid Down is a Swedish Pop punk band formed in Åmål in 2002. Biography Kid Down was signed to Burning Heart Records and released their two first albums called ''The Noble Art Of Irony'' (2007), ''I Want My Girlfriend Rich'' (2008). In 2010 an album called ''Murphy's Law'' was released online by the band. After "Murphy's Law" was released the band went on a hiatus. In 2007 the band won the Rockbjörnen Music Award (MySpace-Award). The band toured through Europe with Fall Out Boy to promote their second album. The band won at the ''Swedish Metal Awards'' in Category Best Punk/Hardcore album. In April 2009 Kid Down toured through Europe and played on Groezrock with Rise Against and Bullet for My Valentine. Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979, by frontman Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson, and drummer Tony Reno. They obtained a major breakthrough in Sweden in 1982 by winning the televised competition "''Rock-SM''" (Swedish Rock Championships): it was the first time this competition was held, and Europe became a larger success than the competition itself. Wizex
Wizex is a Swedish dansband formed in Osby in 1973. It purchased the rights to the name from a band that started as ''Ulrik Wittmans Kvintett'' in 1957''.'' When Ulrik Wittman left the band in 1963 they started to use the name ''Wizex''. When read out the name sounds like "The Six of Us", "vi sex", in Swedish, and it was six persons left in the band when they changed the name. Today's band had six founders and was allowed to purchase the name, and hence use 1973 as the starting point. Wizex broke through in 1977 when they performed on nationwide TV-show '' Nygammalt'' and got its first top ten on the Swedish charts same year with the song ''Vagabond.'' The following year they finished 2nd in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1978. ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. History and profile The newspaper was founded by Lars Johan Hierta in December 1830 under the name of ''Aftonbladet i Stockholm'' during the modernization of Sweden. Often critical and oppositional, the paper was repeatedly banned from publishing. However, Hierta circumvented the bans by constantly reviving the paper under slightly modified names, as, legally speaking, a new publication.
