Richard Bellis
Richard Roe Bellis (who was born on April 3, 1946 in Pasadena, California) is an American film and television music composer, former CLGA president, former ATAS governor, USC lecturer, musical director and former actor. He composed the music for the 49th '' Star Trek Deep Space Nine'' episode "The House of Quark" and the 1990 two-part supernatural horror and dark fantasy television miniseries ''Stephen King's It''. He has worked with Walt Disney Imagineering to write the music to the Disney's Animal Kingdom attraction "Countdown to Extinction" (later renamed to "Dinosaur"). Bellis attended John Muir High School from which he graduated in 1964. He became a musical director for traveling acts like Connie Stevens and Sally Struthers. Pasadena ( ) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, northeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is the most populous city and the primary cultural center of the San Gabriel Valley. Connie Stevens
Connie Stevens (born Concetta Rosalie Ann Ingolia; August 8, 1938) is an American actress and singer. Born in Brooklyn, New York City to musician parents, Stevens was raised there until age 12, when she was sent to live with family friends in rural Missouri after she witnessed a murder in the city. In 1953, at age 15, Stevens relocated with her father to Los Angeles, California. She began her career in 1957, making her feature film debut in '' Young and Dangerous'', before releasing her debut album, ''Concetta'', the following year. ASCAP
The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) () is an American not-for-profit performance-rights organization (PRO) that collectively licenses the public performance rights of its members' musical works to venues, broadcasters, and digital streaming services (music stores). ASCAP collects licensing fees from users of music created by ASCAP members, then distributes them back to its members as royalties. In effect, the arrangement is the product of a compromise: when a song is played, the user does not have to pay the copyright holder directly, nor does the music creator have to bill a radio station for use of a song. In 2021, ASCAP collected over US$1.335 billion in revenue and distributed $1.254 billion in royalties to its members. John Muir High School
John Muir High School is a four-year comprehensive secondary school in Pasadena, California, United States and is a part of the Pasadena Unified School District. The school is named after preservationist John Muir. History In 1926 the Pasadena Unified School District constructed a second high school in the northwest corner of the city. The school was named John Muir Technical High School and though majority white, it served a growing community of Black, Japanese-American and Mexican-American students. In 1938 the school was converted into a junior college and renamed Pasadena Junior College West. It closed during WW2 and was used by the US Army as a Training School.
