Renée of France (25 October 1510 – 12 June 1574), was Duchess of Ferrara from 31 October 1534 until 3 October 1559 by marriage to Ercole II d'Este, grandson of Pope Alexander VI. She was the younger surviving child of Louis XII of France and the duchess regnant Anne of Brittany. In her later life, she became an important supporter of the Protestant Reformation and ally of John Calvin. Renée Carl (10 June 1875 – 31 July 1954) was a French actress of the silent era. She was born in Fontenay-le-Comte, Vendée, France, and died in Paris, France. Between 1907 and 1937, she appeared in 186 films. A favorite of film director Louis Feuillade, she appeared in at least 150 films directed by him, including the short ''Bébé'' and '' Bout de Zan'' comedies. Of the many characters she played in Feuillade's films, perhaps her most famous portrayal was that of Lady Beltham, mistress of the notorious Fantômas in the serial of the same name. She makes an uncredited appearance, as "L'Andalouse," in '' The Vampires''. In 1922, she directed and starred in the film '' A Shout from the Abyss'', also known as '' Un cri dans l'abîme''. Renée of Bourbon, Duchess of Lorraine (1494 – 26 May 1539), also called, Renée, Lady of Mercœur, was a Duchess consort of Lorraine. She was a daughter of Gilbert de Bourbon, Count of Montpensier by Clara Gonzaga, and sister of Charles de Bourbon, Duke of Bourbon. Life Renée was brought up with her cousins, the princesses of France. On 26 June 1515 she married Antoine, Duke of Lorraine in Amboise. The marriage was arranged by the French King, Francis. Francis had promised Antoine marriage to the French queen dowager, Mary Tudor of England, but when Mary chose another spouse, Francis replaced her with Renée. Renee Botta is on the faculty of the Department of Media, Film & Journalism Studies at the University of Denver where she has conducted research on the relationship between media use and eating disorders among adolescents from diverse populations. She earned a Ph.D. in 1998 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At the University of Denver she teaches courses in health communication, mass communication & public relations in many different graduate and undergraduate courses. Renée Bordereau (1776 in Soulaines-sur-Aubance – 1822 in Vezins, Maine-et-Loire), nicknamed ''The Angevin'', was a French woman who followed her father, disguised herself as a man, and fought as a Royalist cavalier in the troops of Charles Melchior Artus de Bonchamps during the Vendéan insurrection against the French Revolution (in 1793) and took part in all battles of the war. She was born to peasant family south of Angers, France. She may have done some smuggling during her youth, carrying illegal salt between Maine and Brittany. Her father was part of the riots of the Revolution and as result, was later executed by revolutionaries in December 1793. Renée Pietrafesa Bonnet (17 December 1938 – 3 February 2022) was a French and Uruguayan composer, pianist, organist, harpsichordist and conductor. Her compositions spanned both popular and classical genres which included Electroacoustic music. Life and career Born in 1938 in Montevideo, Uruguay, Pietrafesa began her musical studies with her mother, pianist and pedagogue Renée Bonnet. She attended courses taught by Jörg Demus and Héctor Tosar, developing her skills as both a composer and a performer. She founded the ''Chorale de l'Alliance Française'' and the ''Montevideo Ars musicæ Chamber Orchestra'' which tours in Uruguay and the whole of Latin America and organized the 1st Montevideo Open Air Chamber Music Festival.
