The Brunswick Heritage Museum is a railroad and history museum in Brunswick, Maryland. History The Brunswick Potomac Foundation was founded during the town's 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee and originally focused on hosting local events including Railroad Days, an annual street festival held during the first full weekend in October. In 1974, the group purchased a building from a fraternal lodge to host a museum. Founded as the Brunswick Railroad Museum, the museum originally focused exclusively on railroads. In 2013, the name was changed to Brunswick Heritage Museum and the mission of the museum expanded to include the history of Brunswick, a company town of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Red Men Hall (Essex, Connecticut)
Hill's Academy is a historic school building at 22 Prospect Street in Essex, Connecticut. It is now the home of the Essex Historical Society, and was also historically known as the Red Men's Hall because it served as an Improved Order of Red Men lodge. It is a two-story Greek Revival building that was built in 1832, and was used as a school until 1910. It was used by the Improved Order of Red Men between 1915 and 1954. The town then established the Essex Historical Society to receive the property and to preserve local history. and The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Red Men Hall (Index, Washington)
The Red Men Hall, also known as the Redmen Wigwam, was a meeting hall in Index, Washington originally for the Improved Order of Red Men. The building, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, collapsed on New Year's Day 2009. Organization The Red Men are a fraternal lodge which imitate Native American traditions and call their local lodges "wigwams". The Index Tribe #68 of the Great Council of Washington constructed the building in 1903 which included a stage and kitchen. The building was the largest structure in the small logging and mining town and served as a center of social activities including vaudeville shows, weddings, and political gatherings. Red Men Hall (Los Angeles)
The Red Men Hall, listed as the Redmen's Hall, is a historic structure that houses a fraternal organization near the coast in the San Pedro community of Los Angeles, California. Historic structure Initially built as a library in 1915, the hall is a two-story American Craftsman style structure located on a hillside overlooking the Port of Los Angeles. The interior contains local wood paneling and exposed ceiling beams. The City designated the hall as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (HCM #751) in 2003. Fraternal organization A local lodge of the Improved Order of Red Men, a fraternal organization which draws customs assumed to be used by Native American, has occupied the building for nearly all of its existence. Red Men Hall (Reading, Pennsylvania)
The Red Men Hall, later known as Century Hall, is a historic four-story building located in Reading, Pennsylvania. Red Men The building originally served as a meeting place for the local lodge or "wigwam" of the Improved Order of Red Men. The Red Men are a fraternal organization which imitate perceived Native American customs. However, this location consisted exclusively of German Americans. The organization had numerous chapters in Pennsylvania beginning in the nineteenth century. Building Constructed by the Red Men in 1900, the four-story brick facade building displays American Craftsman style architectural designs with Renaissance Revival elements, and includes decorative tiles by Henry Chapman Mercer. Later, the structure served as a rental hall called Century Hall, capitalizing on the building being built at the turn of the century. Red Men Hall (Waco, Texas)
The Red Men Museum and Library is an American history museum in Waco, Texas. It also houses the archives and presents the official history of the Improved Order of Red Men, a patriotic fraternal organization with traditions attributed to Native Americans. Organization Robert E. Davis, the former national secretary for the Red Men, was an avid collector of both Red Men memorabilia as well as an eclectic collection of artifacts he had purchased at auction. He willed his collection to the organization which founded the museum in 1991. The organization is incorporated as the Texas Red Men Foundation. The complex is home to both the headquarters of the national Red Men fraternal organization and the Great Council of Texas office.
