Rashidi Dynasty
The Rasheed dynasty, also called Al Rasheed or the House of Rasheed ( ar, آل رشيد ; ), was a historic Arabian House or dynasty that existed in the Arabian Peninsula between 1836 and 1921. Its members were rulers of the Emirate of Ha'il and the most formidable enemies of the House of Saud, rulers of the Emirate of Nejd. The Emirates Lunar Mission ( ar, مشروع الإمارات لاستكشاف القمر) is the first mission to the Moon from the United Arab Emirates. The mission by Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is sending a lunar rover named ''Rashid'' to the Moon aboard ispace's Hakuto-R Mission 1 lander. Al Rasheed Air Base is a major Iraqi Air Force base on the south east outskirts of Baghdad, in the Diyala Governorate of Iraq. It is located approximately 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) southeast of downtown Baghdad. The air base is served by an 8,300 foot long runway. The Rasheed (or ''Rashid'') is a semi-automatic carbine, derived from the Hakim Rifle and used by the Egyptian military. Only around 8,000 were made. The Rasheed was designed by the Swedish engineer Erik Eklund, who based it on his previous Hakim Rifle (8×57mm Mauser cartridge), which was itself a slightly modified version of the Swedish Ag m/42 rifle (6.5×55mm Swedish cartridge). Design The carbine resembles the Soviet SKS carbine, particularly in the permanently attached pivoting-blade bayonet, which appears identical to its Russian counterpart.
