The Corporación de Radio y Televisión Española, S.A. (; ), known as Radiotelevisión Española or RTVE, is the state-owned public corporation that assumed in 2007 the indirect management of the Spanish public radio and television service known as Ente Público Radiotelevisión Española. It provides multi-station television (TVE) and radio services ( RNE), as well as online and streaming services. Since the entry into force of the ''Ley de Financiación de RTVE'' in 2009, RTVE is primarily funded by a combination of subsidies from the General State Budget and a fee levied on the private agents' gross revenue (3.0 % for private free-to-air channels, a 1.5 % for private subscription channels and a 0.9 % for telecom companies). The Chair of RTVE, officially Chair of the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation, is the head of the RTVE Corporation and of the RTVE Board. The chair of RTVE is the chief executive of the corporation and chairs the Board, convene its meetings and execute its guidelines. The chair is appointed by the majority of the Congress of Deputies. Elena Sánchez Caballero
Elena Sánchez Caballero (born 25 December 1957) is a Spanish journalist. Since August 2018, she has been RTVE's corporate secretary general, a member of the team led by Rosa María Mateo. From 2008 to 2014 she was RTVE's viewer ombudsman. Biography After receiving a licentiate in journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid, Elena Sánchez Caballero started her professional career at the EFE news agency in 1982. Prado del Rey is the central headquarters of Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE), the Spanish state-owned public broadcasting corporation, and the main production center for its subsidiaries Televisión Española (TVE) and Radio Nacional de España (RNE). The complex is in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid). History Prado del Rey was inaugurated on 18 July 1964 to replace the first Televisión Española headquarters located at Paseo de la Habana in Madrid. It was opened by Francisco Franco and the then-Minister of Information and Tourism, Manuel Fraga. with three studios already in operation and another six studios under construction. ''Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales'' (SEPI) is a Spanish state holding company that is characterized as a Sovereign wealth fund. It is controlled by the Ministry of the Treasury. SEPI was preceded by the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI) and the Instituto Nacional de Hidrocarburos (INH). TV3 () is the primary television channel of Catalan public broadcaster Televisió de Catalunya, a subsidiary of the CCMA.
