Pullach
Pullach, officially Pullach i. Isartal, is a municipality in the district of Munich in Bavaria in Germany. It lies on the Isar Valley Railway and is served by the S 7 line of the Munich S-Bahn, at the Großhesselohe Isartalbahnhof, Pullach and Höllriegelskreuth railway stations. The headquarters of the intelligence agency of the German government, the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), was located in Pullach before the agency moved to Berlin. The new headquarters was completed in 2017 and opened officially in February 2019. Until the move to Berlin, ‘Pullach’ was a metonym for ‘the BND’ just as ‘ Langley’ is for ‘the CIA’. Pullach Station
Pullach station is a station on the Isar Valley Railway from Munich to Bichl in the German state of Bavaria. It has been part of the Munich S-Bahn since 1981. The station is located in the municipality of Pullach, which also contains the stations of Großhesselohe Isartal and Höllriegelskreuth. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station and has two platforms. The station building is registered as a historic building on the List of Bavarian Monuments and has been acquired by the municipality of Pullach. It currently operates the station and is considering how the station building and the surrounding area could be used in future development, including aesthetic improvements. Großhesselohe Isartalbahn station (german: Großhesselohe Isartalbahnhof) is a station on the Isar Valley Railway from Munich to Bichl in the German state of Bavaria. Isar Valley Railway
The Isar River Valley Railway (german: Isartalbahn) is a standard gauge and electrified railway in the German state of Bavaria. Originally it was 51.1 km long, running from Munich South station to and was built from 1891 to 1898 in sections by the Lokalbahn AG company (LAG). The section from Munich South to Wolfratshausen was classified as a main line, while the section from Wolfratshausen to Bichl was classified as a branch line. In 1900, the LAG electrified the section from the ''Isartalbahnhof'' (the station for the Isar River Valley Railway in Munich) to Höllriegelskreuth for suburban services at 580 volts DC. In 1938, the LAG and, with it, the Isar Valley Railway were nationalised. After the Second World War, Deutsche Bundesbahn converted the electrification to 15 kV AC (16 ⅔ Hz); this was completed in 1955 and extended to Wolfratshausen in 1960. The Munich S-Bahn (german: S-Bahn München) is an electric rail transit system in Munich, Germany. " S-Bahn" is the German abbreviation for ''Stadtschnellbahn'' (literally, "urban rapid rail"), and the Munich S-Bahn exhibits characteristics of both rapid transit and commuter rail systems. Thalkirchen-Obersendling-Forstenried-Fürstenried-Solln (Central Bavarian: ''Thoikircha-Obasendling-Forstnriad-Fiastnriad-Soin'') is the 19th borough of Munich, Germany, comprising the extreme southern part of the city on the west bank of the river Isar. Baierbrunn
Baierbrunn is a municipality in the district of Munich in the south-German state Bavaria. It is located between Schäftlarn and Pullach on the Bundesstraße 11 and consists of the two villages Baierbrunn and Buchenhain. Baierbrunn has a stop on the S7 of the Munich S-Bahn. History Some remains of a hillfort from the Early Middle Ages, called Birg, can be found on the area of the municipality of Baierbrunn. The earliest known mentioning of Baierbrunn was in 776 on a deed of gift from Kloster Schäftlarn. It became an independent municipality in 1818. Waldwirtschaft
The Waldwirtschaft is a tavern with a large beer garden just south of Munich. It is situated in the municipality of Pullach in the ward of Großhesselohe on the high bank (fluvial terrace) of the Isar. Sepp Krätz has been the publican since 1981, and has run the Hippodrome Festival Tent at the Oktoberfest from 1995 to 2014. The tavern is a two-winged hip roof building dating from the middle of the 19th century and is a listed building together with the neighbouring Chapel of the Holy Trinity. S7 (Munich)
Line S7 is a line on the Munich S-Bahn network. It is operated by DB Regio Bayern. It runs from Wolfratshausen via Höllriegelskreuth, central Munich, Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn and Aying to Kreuzstraße. Trains reverse in Munich East station and, in order for S-Bahn services from St.-Martin-Straße to be inserted into the S-Bahn line while simultaneously reversing to run into the S-Bahn tunnel under central Munich or vice versa, the line between Munich East station and the flying junction between München-Giesing and Fasangarten stations is one of the few in Germany that has traffic running on the left. The line is operated at 20-minute intervals between Höllriegelskreuth and Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.
