Stefan Pichler (born November 7, 1957) is a global airline and tourism Chief Executive. Most recently he was President and CEO of Royal Jordanian. Previously, Pichler was the Managing Director and CEO of Air Berlin, served as Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, as the CEO of Jazeera Airways, Chairman and CEO of Thomas Cook AG and Chairman of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Tourismuswirtschaft, as well as Chairman of Fiji Tourism. Additionally, he has held Senior and Executive Board roles as a CCO at Virgin Australia and at Lufthansa. In November 2014, Air Berlin appointed Pichler as CEO effective February 2015. Caroline Pichler, also spelled Karoline, (7 September 1769 – 9 July 1843) was an Austrian historical novelist. Life She was born in Vienna to Hofrat Franz Sales von Greiner (1730–1798) and his wife Charlotte, née Hieronymus (1739–1815). In the 1770s Charlotte would visit Maria Theresa and often bring her daughter Caroline with her. As a young girl, Caroline met Haydn and was a pupil of Mozart, who regularly performed music at the Greiners' residence. She was taught Latin, French, Italian, and English in her youth. At age 12, Pichler published her first poem. In 1796, Caroline married Andreas Pichler, a government official, and the brother of Anton Pichler, the owner of the Viennese publisher and printer A. Bernd Pichler (born 26 December 1969) is a German biomedical engineer and expert in preclinical and molecular imaging as well as in imaging technology. He is Chair of the Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy as well as Director of the Werner Siemens Imaging Center at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Gabriela Katarina Pichler (born 11 March 1980 in Huddinge) is a Swedish film director and screenwriter. Biography Pichler and her family moved from Stockholm to Örkelljunga when she was eight years old. Her mother, Ruzica Pichler, is from Bosnia and her father is from Austria. Giovanni Pichler (Born 10 January 1734 in Naples; died 25 January 1791 in Rome) was a German-Italian artist in engraved gems. Biography Giovanni Pichler was born on 10 January 1734 in Naples, where his father, the Tyrolean gem-engraver, Anton Pichler, had settled. He was the brother of Luigi Pichler, who also became a gem-engraver. In 1743 his father moved to Rome. Giovanni was educated by his father in classical methods, and apprenticed to Domenico Corvi''The Grove Encyclopaedia of Engraving.'' He cut, after 15 years, a Hercules in Combat with the Nemean Lions, a generally admired piece. His gems, both recessed and embossed, are of outstanding clarity and sharpness and he was one of the most sought after engravers of his age, leaving him with a prolific 379 pieces to his name. Joseph Pichler (May 9, 1730 – December 15, 1808) was an Austrian painter, best known for his frescoes. Pichler was born in the Carinthian village of Kötschach, which he left in 1752 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Pichler remains primarily known for the frescoes commissioned by his long-time client Wenzel Anton, Prince of Kaunitz-Rietberg. Pichler applied frescoes in Kaunitz's Slavkov Castle (located in Slavkov u Brna), the castle's chapel, and the Palais Kaunitz-Wittgenstein, where he painted the frescoes in the stairwell and the banquet hall. Anita Pichler
Anita Pichler (28 January 1948 – 6 April 1997) was an Italian author and translator from South Tyrol who wrote in German. She was the first post-war author to achieve visibility outside that region. Life Pichler was born in Schenna and grew up in Schenna, Sulden and Trieste. She went on to study modern languages and literature at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Slavic studies in Prague. She received a scholarship to attend Humboldt University in East Berlin in 1979. In 1982, Pichler returned to Venice, where she was a lecturer for German at the Ca' Foscari University. She started writing in the 1960, but did not write anything between 1969 and 1978, which she later explained by lack of time. In 1986, Pichler published her first story ''Die Zaunreiterin''. Alfred Pichler (18 December 1913 – 17 May 1992) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Banja Luka, the first bishop of Banja Luka who was diocesan priest and the first who was born on the territory of the Diocese of Banja Luka. Early life Alfred Pichler was born in Oštrelj near Drvar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Anton and Matilda (née Helk) Pichler. He had finished elementary school in Šipovo and Prijedor where he also attended six years of gymnasium, then he went to the minor seminary in Travnik. Benedikt Pichler (born 20 July 1997) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Holstein Kiel. Anton Pichler (April 12, 1697 – September 14, 1779) was a Tyrolean goldsmith and artist of engraved gems, and the son of a doctor.''The Grove Encyclopedia of Decorative Arts.'' Pichler was born in Brixen. He studied in Naples and worked for the Bourbon court later moving, in 1743, to Rome, where he lived to his death. Pichler's gems include: Antigone and Ismene before the Temple of the Furies, the Father of the Returning from Thebes advisors (a large Onyx), and Priamos at the Feet of Achilles (after an owners concept); a great bust of Homer; the Head of Julius Caesar; Meleager, after the Statue in the Vatican; the Bacchanal of Michelangelo, the signet ring.
