Percy Locey
Percy P. Locey (November 28, 1894 – August 1981) was an American football player, coach, and a college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at the University of Denver from 1932 to 1935. He was the athletic director the latter at Oregon State College from 1937 to 1947. Locey was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1981 and into the Oregon State University Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. Playing career Locey enrolled at Oregon State in 1915 and played competitive football as a freshman. His career and education, however, was put on hold for a short period during World War I. Returning to Oregon State in 1921, he became an outstanding tackle on the Oregon State Aggies football team. Locey lettered in 1915 and again from 1921 to 1923 and was team captain in 1923. The 1933 college football season saw the Michigan Wolverines repeat as winners of the Knute Rockne Memorial Trophy as national champion under the Dickinson System. The unofficial east–west championship game, the Rose Bowl, was between Stanford (8–1–1) who was ranked behind USC and unranked Columbia (7–1). The Columbia Lions won the Rose Bowl game 7–0. Jay Locey
Jay Locey (born February 3, 1955) is an American football coach and former player who is the running backs and tight ends coach for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). Locey served as the head football coach at Linfield College from 1996 to 2005, compiling a record of 84–18. Early years Locey attended Corvallis High School in his hometown of Corvallis, Oregon from 1969 to 1973. As a sophomore, he earned a spot on the varsity football team. The starting quarterback on that team was senior Mike Riley. That season the Spartans went 11–1, losing to North Salem in their homecoming game, and won the state championship, avenging their loss in the 1969 championship the year before. Locey was a reserve linebacker and played special teams that season. Upon graduating from Corvallis High, he accepted a scholarship to play football at Oregon State.
