Pe'er Tasi
Pe'er Tasi ( he, פאר טסי; born 10 May 1984) is an Israeli singer and songwriter in the Mizrahi genre. Biography Tasi was born on 10 May 1984 in Israeli town Pardes Hanna-Karkur, and is of Yemenite Jewish ancestry. He began singing at age six in the Yemenite synagogue in his neighborhood. In his youth, he sang in karaoke clubs and parties. Tasi served in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat soldier in the Kfir Brigade. Following the completion of his military service, he was a hotel singer for the Fattal hotel management company. After two years, Tasi left the hotel business and began working on his debut album. In 2009, he released his first single, followed by three others released in 2010, 2011, and 2013. In 2013, he won first place in a musical competition with a song he later released as a single. Nesher
Nesher ( he, נֶשֶׁר) is a city in the Haifa District of Israel. In it had a population of . It was founded in 1923 as a workers town for the Nesher Cement factory, the first cement factory in the country. History Nesher was founded in 1924 as a workers town for the Nesher Cement factory, established in September 1923 by Michael Pollack, a Jewish industrialist from Russia. The area was swampy and malaria-infested, but employees of the factory gradually moved there with their families, bringing the population to 1,500. Nesher was floated as a public company in 1925. In 1929, the Arabs of Balad al-Sheikh attacked the factory and burned down a farm. By the mid-1930s, Nesher Cement had 700 employees, both Jewish and Arab. Pardes Hanna-Karkur ( he, פַּרְדֵּס חַנָּה-כַּרְכּוּר) is a town in the Haifa District of Israel. In it had a population of . History An Arab village named Karkur had stood at this location by the time the Palestine Exploration Fund had compiled its first maps in 1878. In 1913, 15 square kilometers of land was purchased by the Hachsharat Hayishuv society from Arabs in Jenin and Haifa for 400,000 francs (a sum equivalent to 2 million US dollars). Two years later, the land was sold to a private investor, Yitzhak Shlezinger, the Odessa Committee and the First London Ahuza society. This land became the core of Karkur, Moshav Gan Hashomron and Kibbutz Ein Shemer. Until actual settlement began, the area was guarded by Hashomer, which planted eucalyptus trees to circumvent a Turkish law that allowed the Ottomans to expropriate lands if they were not cultivated for three years.
