Fernando Del Paso
Fernando del Paso Morante (April 1, 1935 – November 14, 2018) was a Mexican novelist, essayist and poet. Biography Del Paso was born in Mexico City and took two years in economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He lived in London for 14 years, where he worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation and in France, where he worked for Radio France Internationale and briefly served as Consul General of Mexico. Ducati Paso
The Ducati Paso was introduced in 1986 with the slogan "Il nostro passato ha un grande futuro" (Our past has a great future). The name was in honour of racer Renzo Pasolini, nicknamed "Paso", who died on 20 May 1973 in an accident at the Monza racetrack during the Italian motorcycle Grand Prix (''Gran Premio motociclistico d'Italia''). Background The Cagiva (from CAstiglioni GIovanni VArese) company, founded by the Castiglioni brothers, needed an engine – while Ducati, who had just been released from a difficult past of statutory public management (IRI), needed revenue. Over a series of Italian style meetings/lunches in 1984, they agreed a deal for Ducati to supply engines to Cagiva – and then go out of the business of producing motorcycles. Seldovia Airport is a public-use gravel airstrip serving Seldovia, Alaska, about 15 miles (27 km) south-southwest from the fishing town of Homer at the Kenai Peninsula's "end of the road." The two towns are separated by Kachemak Bay, a blue-water arm of the North Pacific Ocean's Gulf of Alaska. The blanket primary is a system used for selecting political party candidates in a primary election, used in Argentina and historically in the United States. In a blanket primary, voters may pick one candidate for each office without regard to party lines; for instance, a voter might select a Democratic candidate for governor and a Republican candidate for senator. In a traditional blanket primary the candidates with the highest number of votes for each office ''in each party'' advance to the general election, as the respective party's nominee. Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra
Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra are a Hungarian ska band formed in Budapest, in 2003. The band's musical style has fused Jamaican-style ska and reggae with jazz melodies and elements of traditional Hungarian folk music. After their first demo in 2003 they have released four studio albums on Megalith Records and one live album on Crossroads Records. The band have toured extensively around Continental Europe and regularly play the Sziget Festival, where they played on the main stage in 2008. The band members also run several side projects, such as PASO Soundsystem (ska DJ set) and PASO's Roots Rockers ( dub and reggae live band set). They also present a weekly ska radio show on the Hungarian Tilos Rádió station. The band also started PASO Booking, a gig booking agency with an aim to bring more ska music to Hungary. Juan José Esteban Paso, (January 2, 1758, Buenos Aires – September 10, 1833) was an Argentine politician who participated in the events that started the Argentine War of Independence known as May Revolution of 1810. Biography Early life Juan José Paso is the son of Domingo de Passo. Domingo left Spain and moved to Buenos Aires in 1750. He worked as a baker; Buenos Aires had a scarce production of bread at the time. Domingo got married with María Manuela Fernández Escandón on March 8, 1755. Domingo became a '' vecino'' after his marriage. Their son Juan José Esteban Paso was born on January 2, 1758, and baptized five days later. The place of Paso's initial education is unknown, but it was not the Real Colegio San Carlos, as he is not among its recorded list of students. Paso studied at the University of Córdoba and graduated in Theology in 1779. A longyi (; ) is a sheet of cloth widely worn in Burma (Myanmar). It is approximately long and wide. The cloth is often sewn into a cylindrical shape. It is worn around the waist, running to the feet, and held in place by folding fabric over without a knot. It is sometimes folded up to the knee for comfort. Myanmar longyi originated in India.
