Nireekshana
''Nireekshana'' () is a 1986 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film co-written, directed, filmed, and edited by Balu Mahendra. Produced by Linga Raju, the film stars Bhanu Chander and Archana. Allu Ramalingaiah, P. L. Narayana and Rallapalli play supporting roles. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was remade into Tamil as ''Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam'' (2005). This is a remake of Malayalam film ''Yathra'' (1985) by Balu Mahendra himself. The film won two Nandi Awards. The film was dubbed and released in Tamil, under the title ''Kanne Kalaimane''. Balu Mahendra
Balanathan Benjamin Mahendran (19 May 1939 13 February 2014), commonly known as Balu Mahendra, was a Sri Lankan-born Indian cinematographer, director, screenwriter and film editor who worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. Widely regarded as an auteur, Mahendra usually scripted and edited his films apart from shooting them. He was the recipient of six National Film Awards (including two for Best Cinematography), five Filmfare Awards South and several state government awards. Mahendran developed a passion for photography and literature at a young age. ''Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam'' () is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Balu Mahendra.
