Ning Jing
Ning Jing (; born April 27, 1972) is a Chinese actress and singer. She is best known for playing Milan in ''In the Heat of the Sun'' (1994), Danzhu in '' Red River Valley'' (1997), Angel in '' Lover's Grief over the Yellow River'' (1999) and Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang in the television series '' Xiaozhuang Epic'' (2003). Ning has received various accolades, including a Silver Shell for Best Actress, a Golden Rooster Award from two nominations, two Hundred Flowers Awards, and has been nominated for one Golden Horse Award. Ning (surname)
Ning is the romanisation of the Chinese surnames 寧 ''Níng'' and its variant 甯 ''Nìng''. After the introduction of simplified characters, both names were written as 宁 in Mainland China until 2000, when the character 甯 was restored as an accepted variant for people whose family had originally used that character. Golden Rooster Award
The Golden Rooster Awards () are film awards given in mainland China. The awards were originally given annually, beginning in 1981. The name of the award came from the year of the Rooster in 1981. Award recipients receive a statuette in the shape of a golden rooster, and are selected by a jury of filmmakers, film experts, and film historians. The awards are the Chinese equivalent to the American Academy Awards. Originally, Golden Roosters were only available to mainland Chinese nominees, but in 2005, the awards opened up the acting categories to actors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere in an effort to compete with Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards. ''Lotus Lantern'' () is a Chinese animated feature film based on the Chinese fairy tale, The Magic Lotus Lantern, produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio. Plot The story is based on the traditional Chinese folklore about a boy named Chenxiang. His mother, Sanshengmu, is a goddess and his father, Liu Yanchang, was a mortal. Since their marriage was forbidden, his maternal uncle, Erlang Shen, who was a god, punishes them by killing Liu Yanchang. Sanshengmu escapes and gives birth, but Chen Xiang grows up without knowledge of his ancestry. Sanshengmu possesses a magical Lotus Lantern whose light can scare away evil. The Changchun Film Festival (中国长春电影节) is a biennial international film festival held in the Chinese city of Changchun. Ostensibly international, its award for best film, the Golden Deer has nevertheless primarily been awarded to Chinese and other East Asia-region films. ''The Bewitching Braid'' (, pt, A Trança Feiticeira) is a 1996 film directed by Cai Yuanyuan (蔡元元) and produced by Cai An'an (蔡安安 aka "Choi Unun"). It was the first film produced in Macau. The Cai brothers hoped to make a film that showcased the territory. The production company was jointly owned by the two brothers. The budgeting of the film, shot in 1995, was for 8,000,000 Macau patacas, with 2,000,000 patacas of that used for distribution purposes. Golden Phoenix Awards (), China's equivalent to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, is a bi-annual accolade given by the China Film Performance Art Academy to recognize outstanding performances in film.
