The Mishima ( ja, 見島牛, ''Mishima ushi'') is a criticallyendangered Japanese breed of beef cattle. It is found only on Mishima Island, some north-west of Hagi, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is one of six native Japanese cattle breeds, and one of two small populations that have never been cross-bred with Western cattle, the other being the Kuchinoshima breed from Kuchinoshima island in the Tokara Island group. Mishima ware (三島焼) refers to different types of imported and adopted Japanese pottery. Mishima originally refers to the shimamono pottery imported from the islands of Taiwan, Luzon, and "Amakawa" (Macau). They were characterized by being roughly-made and often uneven, thus epitomizing the Japanese aesthetic of ''wabi-sabi''. is a village consisting of the inhabited islands of Iōjima, Kuroshima and Takeshima and the uninhabited islands of Shōwa Iōjima and Denshima located in Kagoshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Mishima is a Catalan indie pop band from Barcelona, Spain. Formed in 1999, the band consists of David Carabén, Marc Lloret, Dani Vega, Xavi Caparrós, and Alfons Serra.
