The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic ( cs, Ministr zahraničních věcí České republiky) is a senior official of the Government of the Czech Republic, and as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is concerned with foreign policy and foreign relations of the Czech Republic. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is appointed by the President after being nominated by the Prime Minister. The Minister of Foreign Affairs along with the Finance Minister, the Minister of Defence, and the Minister of the Interior are generally regarded as the four most important cabinet members because of the importance of their respective ministries. Jan Lipavský
Jan Lipavský (born 2 July 1985) is a Czech politician and IT manager, who has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic since December 2021, in the Cabinet of Petr Fiala. A member of the Czech Pirate Party, he was previously a member of the Chamber of Deputies from October 2017 to October 2021. Early life Lipavský was born in Prague on 2 July 1985. He majored in international area studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, graduating with a Bachelor's degree. He joined the Erasmus Programme for two semesters at the University of Kent, United Kingdom. Political career Lipavský served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 2017 to 2021. Lubomír Zaorálek (born 6 September 1956) is a Czech politician, who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs under Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka from 2014 to 2017, and Minister of Culture under Prime Minister Andrej Babiš from 2019 to 2021. He was a Member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) from 1996 to 2021, and unsuccessfully ran for the premiership in the 2017 election but his Social Democratic Party received only 7% of the vote. Jan Kohout (born 29 March 1961) is a Czech diplomat and politician. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in caretaker governments of Jan Fischer and Jiří Rusnok. Between 1986–1989 he had been a member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia; since 1995 is a member of the Social Democratic Party but before accepting the office of Foreign Minister he suspended party membership. The Green Party ( cs, Strana zelených, lit=Party of Greens) is a green political party in the Czech Republic. Prince Karel of Schwarzenberg (, born 10 December 1937) is a Czech politician, former leader of the TOP 09 party and was its candidate for president of the Czech Republic in the 2013 election.
