Maverick Records
Maverick was an American entertainment company founded in 1992 by Madonna, Frederick DeMann, and Veronica "Ronnie" Dashev, and formerly owned and operated by Warner Music Group. It included a record label (Maverick Records), a film production company (Maverick Films), book publishing, music publishing, a Latin record division (Maverick Música), and a television production company. The first releases for the company were Madonna's 1992 coffee table publication ''Sex'' and her studio album ''Erotica'', which were released simultaneously to great controversy as well as success. Journalist and biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli considered the existence of Maverick Records to be an "anomaly", as Madonna became one of the first female artists to have a ''real'' label and one of the few women to run her own entertainment company. Maverick (management)
Maverick is an American music management group formed in 2014 by Guy Oseary. A revival of the Maverick company (1992–2009), the management group also adopts the company's logo. History In 2014, Oseary announced that he was forming a joint venture with Live Nation Entertainment to establish a management group, amalgamating with other managers and their companies into one venture. Oseary originally was joined by Reign Deer's Larry Rudolph and Adam Leber, Blueprint Group's Gee Roberson, Cortez Bryant and Shawn Gee, Quest Management's Scott Rodger, Spalding Entertainment's Clarence Spalding, Laffitte Management's Ron Laffitte and I Am Other's Caron Veazey. All nine managers combined their companies together, rebranded them and their respective employees as "Maverick" on October 17, 2014. Guy Harley Oseary ( he, גיא עוזרי; born October 3, 1972) is an Israeli-American talent manager and writer. His clients include Madonna, U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Biography Guy Oseary was born on October 3, 1972, in Jerusalem, to a Jewish family. He was raised in California and attended Beverly Hills High School. Together since 2006, he married Brazilian model Michelle Alves on October 24, 2017. They have four children together. Candlebox
Candlebox is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. Since its formation in 1990, the group has released seven studio albums, several charting singles, a compilation, and a CD+DVD. Candlebox found immediate success with the release of its self-titled debut album in July 1993. ''Candlebox'' featured four singles: "Change", " You", " Far Behind" and "Cover Me". "Far Behind" reached the top 20, and the album was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. The band's next album, ''Lucy'' (1995), was certified gold, and was followed three years later by '' Happy Pills'' (1998). After troubles with its record company, Candlebox broke up in 2000. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. ''Candlebox'' is the debut album by Seattle rock band Candlebox. It contains their best known hit, " Far Behind", as well as the hit singles "Change", " You" and "Cover Me". Released in 1993, the album has since been certified 4× platinum in the United States. Promotion The music videos for "Change", "Far Behind" and "You" remained in longstanding rotation on MTV and the latter became two of the most requested videos of 1993, and the former being featured on '' Beavis and Butt-Head''. Other songs were recorded during the ''Candlebox'' sessions and included on other releases. "Can't Give In," for instance, appears on the ''Airheads'' film soundtrack.
