Løgstør is a town in Denmark with a population of 3,967 (1 January 2022) It is located 47 km west of Aalborg and 64 km north of Viborg. Løgstør's city centre consists of old streets with small houses built in the 1800s for fishermen and sailors. One of these houses was donated by Danish housemen to the author and poet Johan Skjoldborg (1861 - 1936) in 1918, who lived in the house until his death. It is located on Johan Skjoldborgs Vej. History The name ''Løgstør ''is mentioned for the first time in 1514, where the city is described as a fishing village. Later, the site developed into a charging and trading space, and in 1523 the city became a customs office. Løgstør is an old trading place that, like Nibe, flourished in the 16th century due to its herring markets, but it only got its first merchant's rights in the year 1900. Vesthimmerland Municipality
Vesthimmerland Municipality or Vesthimmerlandøs Municipality is a municipality ( da, kommune) in the North Jutland Region in Denmark. It covers an area of 768,08 km² (2013) and has a total population of 38,277 inhabitants (2008). The Municipality borders Jammerbugt Municipality to the south and to the east it borders Rebild and Aalborg Municipality and to the south it borders Viborg Municipality and to the south-east it borders Mariagerfjord Municipality. Aggersund Bridge
Aggersund is a village in northern Denmark with a population of 290 (2022). The village is a part of Vesthimmerland Municipality in the North Jutland Region. Evidence of settlement in Aggersund dates back to the stone age, and the village contains one of the oldest viking fortresses in Denmark, Aggersborg. Much of the village's modern growth is associated with the commerce brought by the village's bridge. The Aggersund bridge ( da, Aggersundbroen) was once one of few crossings on the Limfjord. The Limfjord ( common Danish: ''Limfjorden'' , in north Jutlandish dialect: ''Æ Limfjord'') is a shallow part of the sea, located in Denmark where it has been regarded as a fjord ever since Viking times. Jens Lauritzen
Jens Lauritzen (born December 3, 1953) is a Danish politician who has been Mayor of the Vesthimmerland Municipality from 2006 to 2010, he is/was from Venstre. Lauritzen is educated in agriculture. Since 1981 he has been an independent farmer, but has also worked as a supervisor in a construction company. He began his political career as a member of Løgstør Municipal Council in Løgstør in 1986. He became mayor of Løgstør Municipality in 1998. Livø
Livø () is a 320-hectare Danish island with approximately 10-year-round residents. The island is located centrally in the Limfjord, about 20 minutes by boat from Rønbjerg, and approximately midway between Nykøbing Mors, Løgstør, Fjerritslev and Thisted. Northeast of the island lies Løgstør Bredning while Livø Broads lies west and south of the island. Geography Livø has been a protected island since 1977. It is accessible by ferry daily between 1 April and 1 September. Dogs and motor vehicles are not permitted on the island. It is possible to walk around the entire island in one afternoon, which is about 10 km total distance. Johan Skjoldborg
Johan Skjoldborg (27 April 1861 – 22 February 1936) was a Danish educator, novelist, playwright and memoirist. Biography Johan Martinus Nielsen Skjoldborg was born in the parish of Øsløs in Thisted in north Jutland, Denmark. He was educated in Nibe and later trained as a teacher at Ranum Seminarium in Ranum. He was employed as a school teacher until he resigned in 1902. Limfjordsskolen
Limfjordsskolen is a boarding school for 16 to 19 years old men and women with learning disabilities and other difficulties. It is situated in the town of Løgstør, Denmark.
