Lurah Bilut
Lurah Bilut () is a town in Bentong District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is the oldest estate town in the country and also a constituency of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly. It is located along Federal Route 8 en route to Raub. Bentong District
Bentong District is a district located in western Pahang, Malaysia. Bentong covers an area of 1,831 km2 and includes the hill resorts of Genting Highlands and Bukit Tinggi. It is located 80 km northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, Titiwangsa Mountains. The original main street going into Bentong town has been modified to a dual carriageway. It is bordered by Selangor on the west and Negeri Sembilan on the south. History In the beginning, Bentong subdistrict was under the administration of district of Raub District. The administration was separated in 1919 due to the large size of the district. The district covers an area of 183,112.35 hectares. The Federal Route 8, also known as the Kuala Lumpur–Kota Bharu Highway ( Malay: ''Jalan Kuala Lumpur–Kota Bharu''), is a 402.7-km federal highway in Malaysia. It connects Bentong in the south to Kota Bharu in the north. The highway had two parts - Kota Bharu–Kuala Krai Road (Malay: ''Jalan Kota Bharu–Kuala Krai'') and Bentong–Kuala Lipis Road (Malay: ''Jalan Bentong–Kuala Lipis'') until the completion of the missing link from Kuala Krai to Kuala Lipis, causing the entire FT8 highway to take 99 years to be completed. Raub, Pahang
Raub () is a town in Raub District, Pahang, Malaysia. Raub is one of the oldest towns in Pahang. History Raub was explored and founded in the 18th century. It is historically a gold mining settlement, and the gold mining industry is now undergoing something of a resurgence as the gold price has risen. According to the history, this mining centre was named Raub after a group of miners found a handful of gold in every tray of sand they dig. This is described by J.A. Richardson in his book, ''The Geology and Mineral Resources of the Neighbourhood of Raub Pahang''. According to him (page 36), "People found that for every "''dulang''" of sand there was a handful (''raub'') of gold". The old folks' tale recounts that in the early 19th century, an old man and his two sons discovered gold every time they scooped up the earth in Raub.
