Ludhiana ( ) is the most populous and the largest city in the Indian state of Punjab. The city has an estimated population of 1,618,879 2011 census and distributed over , making Ludhiana the most densely populated urban centre in the state. It is a major industrial center of Northern India, referred to as the India's Manchester by the BBC. It stands on the old bank of Sutlej River, that is now to the south of its present course. Ludhiana district is one of the 23 districts in the Indian state of Punjab. It is Punjab's largest district by both area and population. Lodhi Fort ( Purana Qila)
The Lodhi Fort ( pa, ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਕਿਲਾ, lit=Old Fort, translit=Purāṇā Kila) is a citadel in the city of Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The fortress is located on the banks of the river Sutlej and contains a tunnel to leading to the neighboring town of Phillaur. It was built over 500 years ago during the reign of the Sikandar Lodi and was well-maintained under the reign of Ranjit Singh and the British after him, but then fell into disrepair. It was declared a state-protected monument in December 2013. The Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology was initially based in the fort campus which is now shifted to the new address at Z - Block, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana. Sultanpur Lodhi
Sultanpur Lodhi is a city and a Municipal Council in the Kapurthala district in the Indian state of Punjab. The town is named after its founder, Bahlol Lodhi, the future Sultan of Delhi who renamed the town in 1443 C.E. during his time as governor of Punjab, and has also been mentioned in the Ain-e-Akbari.
