Levallois-Perret () is a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department and Île-de-France region of north-central France. It lies some from the centre of Paris in the north-western suburbs of the French capital. It is the most densely populated town in Europe and, together with neighbouring Neuilly-sur-Seine, one of the most expensive suburbs of Paris. Name The name Levallois-Perret comes from two housing developments, ''Champerret'' (started by landowner Jean-Jacques Perret in 1822) and ''Village Levallois'' (founded by developer Nicolas-Eugène Levallois in 1845), which resulted in the incorporation of the commune. Levallois Technique
The Levallois technique () is a name given by archaeologists to a distinctive type of stone knapping developed around 250,000 to 300,000 years ago during the Middle Palaeolithic period. It is part of the Mousterian stone tool industry, and was used by the Neanderthals in Europe and by modern humans in other regions such as the Levant. It is named after 19th-century finds of flint tools in the Levallois-Perret suburb of Paris, France. The technique was more sophisticated than earlier methods of lithic reduction, involving the striking of lithic flakes from a prepared lithic core. A striking platform is formed at one end and then the core's edges are trimmed by flaking off pieces around the outline of the intended lithic flake. This creates a domed shape on the side of the core, known as a tortoise core, as the various scars and rounded form are reminiscent of a tortoise's shell. Levallois Sporting Club Football is a French football club founded in 1894. They are based in Levallois-Perret, France. Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba played youth football with Levallois and they have named their new Stadium after Didier Drogba. From 2002 to 2006, the club played at the fifth level of French football, the Championnat de France Amateurs 2 and were promoted after finishing third in their group. Levallois reached the 1/16-finals of the 2000–01 Coupe de France, losing 0–1 to ES Wasquehal. Metropolitans 92 is a French professional basketball club that is based in Levallois-Perret, in the Paris metropolitan area. The club currently plays in the LNB Pro A, the highest-tier level in French basketball. The club was established in 2007, as Paris-Levallois Basket. Its home arena is the Palais des sports Marcel Cerdan, which has a seating capacity of 4,000 people.
