Leslie Grade
Leslie Grade (3 June 1916 – 15 October 1979), born Laszlo (or Lazarus) Winogradsky, was a British theatrical talent agent. In 1943, he co-founded the Grade Organisation (also known as Lew and Leslie Grade Ltd) with his elder brother, the impresario and producer Lew Grade (1906–98). During the 1940s, the company became the UK's most successful light entertainment talent agency. Life and career Grade, the youngest of three brothers, was born in London in 1916, four years after his Jewish family had emigrated from Tokmak, Ukraine—then Imperial Russian territory— in response to pogroms. Leslie and his siblings, Lew and Bernard (1909–94), were raised in Stepney. Fréjus
Fréjus (; ) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. In 2019, it had a population of 54,458. It neighbours Saint-Raphaël, effectively forming one urban agglomeration. The north of the commune forms part of the Massif de l'Esterel. David Land
David Land (22 May 1918 – 22 December 1995) was an impresario and theatre producer, best known for having developed the early careers of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Early life Land was born 22 May 1918 in London to Polish Jewish immigrants. During World War II, he volunteered with the Royal Army Service Corps. Career At the end of the war, he launched a career in show business, producing concerts for stars whose careers had been established during the conflict including the singers Vera Lynn and Anne Shelton and the bandleader Stanley Black. Kent Walton (22 August 1917 – 24 August 2003), born Kenneth Walton Beckett, was a British television sports commentator, presenter and actor. He is best remembered as the predominant commentator on ITV's coverage of British professional wrestling from 1955 to 1988. Early life Despite a transatlantic accent which led many to believe he was Canadian, he was born in Cairo, Egypt, the son of the finance minister in the colonial government. A stroke is a disease, medical condition in which poor cerebral circulation, blood flow to the brain causes cell death. Associated Television was the original name of the British broadcaster ATV, part of the Independent Television (ITV) network. It provided a service to London at weekends from 1955 to 1968, to the Midlands on weekdays from 1956 to 1968, and to the Midlands all week from 1968 to 1982. It was one of the " Big Four" until 1968, and the "Big Five" after 1968, that between them produced the majority of ITV networked programmes.
