Kowsar Women Football League
The Kowsar Women Football League ( fa, لیگ کوثر بانوان فوتبال ایران, ''Lig-e Kâuser-e Banuan-e Futbal-e Iran'') is a women's football league, run by the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran. At the top of the Iranian football league system, it is the country's primary competition for the sport. It was established in 2007. Asian Football Confederation
The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC who managed women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC. Bandar-e Anzali ( fa, بندرانزلی, also Romanized as Bandar-e Anzalī; renamed as Bandar-e Pahlavi during the Pahlavi dynasty) is a city of Gilan Province, Iran. Malavan Bandar Anzali Football Club ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال ملوان بندر انزلى, ''Bashgah-e Futbal-e Milâvan Bendâr Anzeli'') is an Iranian football club based in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran. It currently won Iran's second football league, the Azadegan League and came back to Persian Gulf Pro League after they were relegated in 2015–16 season. The team is known to have some of the most passionate fans in Iranian football, and is one of the successful teams that is not based in Tehran. Bam, Iran
Bam ( fa, بم) is a city and capital of Bam County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 73,823, in 19,572 families. The modern Iranian city of Bam surrounds the Bam citadel. Before the 2003 earthquake the official population count of the city was roughly 43,000. There are various opinions about the date and reasons for the foundation of the citadel. Economically and commercially, Bam occupied a very important place in the region and was famous for its textiles and clothes. 2020–21 Kowsar League
The 2020–21 Iranian Women Football League was the 13th season of the Iran Women League. Shahrdari Bam were the defending champions. The season featured 11 teams divided into two groups of 5 and 6 teams for regular season. Shahrdari Sirjan won the league for the second time and ended three consecutive winnings of Shahrdari Bam. Format Due to COVID-19 pandemic in Iran the format of the league changed from normal round-robin in previous seasons to new format. 11 teams divided into to groups of 5 and 6 teams. In each group, teams played against each other in two home and away matches. After the end of these matches in both groups, winners and runners-up of each group (total 4 teams) qualified to final stage and the lowest ranked team in each group (total 2 teams) relegated to Women 1st Division.
