Kingsajz
''Kingsajz'' is a 1988 cult Polish comedy fantasy film directed by Juliusz Machulski. The action takes place in late communist Poland and in a fictional Lilliputian kingdom called Szuflandia (Drawerland), hidden deep underground the Quaternary Research Institute. The movie is an allegory of a communist regime and thus was received very enthusiastically by anti-communist society. Kingsajz used highly oversized props and sets, supervised by production designer Janusz Sosnowski, intended to capture the difference in size between the little people and the large things from the above ground world that they use. The Drawerland sets were built in Łódź Studio soundstages as wall-to-wall set-constructions. Some scenes were optically enhanced by matte painting by artists from Barrandov Studios. Juliusz Machulski
Juliusz Machulski (born 10 March 1955 in Olsztyn) is a Poles, Polish film director and screenplay writer. Son of noted actor Jan Machulski, Juliusz became notable for his comedies ridiculing the life in communist-ruled Poland of the 1970s and 1980s. Biography Juliusz Machulski was born 10 March 1955 in Olsztyn, Poland, to parents, Jan Machulski and Halina Machulska. In 1973, he moved to Warsaw, where he was admitted to the Polish Philology faculty of the Warsaw University. However, in 1975 he moved to Łódź, where he graduated from the Łódź Film School. Halina Machulska (born March 2, 1929 Łódź, Poland) is a Polish theater, film and television actress. Machulska is the widow of theater director and actor, Jan Machulski, who died in 2008. The couple's son is Polish film director, Juliusz Machulski. Halina and her husband co-starred together in their son's 1987 film, ''Kingsajz''. Maciej Kozłowski
Maciej Kozlowski (8 September 1957 – 11 May 2010) was a Polish actor, mostly known for his roles in ''Kingsajz'', ''Psy'', ''Kiler'', '' With Fire and Sword'' and ''Schindler's List'' and the TV series '' M jak miłość''. Kozlowski was born in Kargowa, and was a graduate of the National Film School in Łódź. He also played as a defender in the Polish Artists Football Team. He died in Warsaw, aged 52; the cause of death was cirrhosis of the liver caused by hepatitis C virus. Polo-Cockta
Polo-Cockta (sometimes written as 'Polo Cockta' or 'Polo-Cocta') is a Polish Coca-Cola-like drink introduced in the 1970s. Polo-Cockta was introduced as a substitute for the original Coca-Cola, which was unavailable in Polish shops due to limited imports from the US to soviet bloc countries. At first it was based on Cockta, a very popular drink from Slovenia (then Yugoslavia). Polo-Cockta was discontinued during the 1980s, but has been revived for a few years by a private company Zbyszko which acquired all the rights to the brand, reacting to the ever-popular demand for PRL-stylised products, an element of " PRL nostalgia". The taste of Polo-Cockta is sometimes described as a mixture of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. For a while Polo-Cockta was renamed Polo Cola, without change to the product. Witold Pyrkosz (24 December 1926 – 22 April 2017) was a Polish actor. He was best known as Lucjan Mostowiak in Polish TV series " M jak miłość", as Pyzdra in " Janosik", as Wichura in "Czterej pancerni i pies", as Balcerek in "Alternatywy 4" and he was also a voice actor of Tow Mater in Polish dubbing of Pixar's Cars series. ↵His official birth certificate says that he was born on 1 January 1927 in Lwów; however, he stated that this was done purposely: the date was changed to delay his compulsory conscription for a year, while his mother registered his birthplace as Lwów because it "sounded more regal".
