Khachar
Rafik Khachatryan ( hy, Ռաֆիկ Գարեգինի Խաչատրյան; October 7, 1937 – January 16, 1993) was an Armenian sculptor. He was the father of Garegin Khachatryan (1975–1995). Biography Khachatryan was a direct descendant of the house of Daniel-Bek of Sassun (province Sassun or Sason of Western Armenia) (second half of the 18th century) and Khachatur-Bek of Mush (town Mush of Western Armenia) (first half of the 19th century), and the father of Garegin Khachatryan - one of the young heroes of the National Liberation war. He graduated from the Phanos Therlemzyan Art college (Yerevan) in 1966 and the Yerevan Art-Theatrical Institute (University) in 1971. Activities Khachatryan was a participant and an ideologist of the Armenian national liberation movement of the 20th century. Garegin Khachatryan ( hy, Գարեգին Ռաֆիկի Խաչատրյան; 17 September 1975 – 2 September 1995) was an Armenian sculptor, artist, and freedom fighter. Biography Garegin Khachatryan was born in Yerevan, 17 September 1975. Son of Rafik Khachatryan - Khachar Afo - who was a sculptor of the Union of the Artists of the USSR and Armenia and a young (13 years old) and brave participant of the National Liberation movement of Armenians: he was a Soldier of Armenian National Liberation Legion ( Azgayin Legion or National Legeon, from 1988, aged thirteen, to 1994 when he was 19 years old. Avetik Sahak Isahakyan ( hy, Ավետիք Սահակ Իսահակյան; October 30, 1875 – October 17, 1957) was a prominent Armenian lyric poet, writer and public activist. Biography Isahakyan was born in Alexandropol in 1875. He was educated at the Kevorkian seminary in Echmiadzin, and later at the University of Leipzig, where he studied philosophy and anthropology. He started his literary as well as political careers in his early youth. Upon his return from Leipzig in 1895 he entered the ranks of the newly established Alexandropol committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. Through his activities he supported armed groups and financial aid sent to Western Armenia from Alexandropol. He was arrested in 1896 and spent a year in Yerevan’s prison. Abovyan or Abovian ( hy, Աբովյան), is a town and urban municipal community in Armenia within the Kotayk Province. It is located northeast of Yerevan and southeast of the province centre Hrazdan. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town is 43,495, down from 59,000 reported at the 1989 census. Currently, the town has an approximate population of 44,900 as per the 2020 official estimate.
