Kerr Township is a township in Champaign County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 163 and it contained 66 housing units. History Kerr Township changed its name from Middlefork Township on April 30, 1860. Geography Kerr is Township 22 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian and part of Range 14 West of the Second Principal Meridian. When the federal township land surveys were done in 1821 one group of surveyors went west from the Second Principal Meridian and another went east from the Third Principal Meridian. Both groups used rawhide measuring lines that expanded and contracted with the weather. Kerr is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County, Montana, United States. The population was 251 at the 2010 census, up from 17 in 2000. Geography Kerr is located in north-central Lake County at (47.677998, -114.192717), bordering the southwest side of Polson, the county seat. The western edge of the Kerr CDP is formed by the Flathead River as it exits Flathead Lake. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 10.49%, are water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 17 people, 6 households, and 6 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 69.9 people per square mile (27.3/km2). Kerr County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 52,598. Its county seat is Kerrville. The county was named by Joshua D. Brown for his fellow Kentucky native, James Kerr, a congressman of the Republic of Texas. The Kerrville, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Kerr County. A Mason jar, also known as a canning jar or fruit jar, is a glass jar used in home canning to preserve food. It was named after American tinsmith John Landis Mason, who patented it in 1858. The jar's mouth has a screw thread on its outer perimeter to accept a metal ring or "band". The band, when screwed down, presses a separate stamped steel disc-shaped lid against the jar's rim. Mason lost his patent for the jars and numerous other companies started manufacturing similar jars. Over the years, the brand name ''Mason'' became the genericized trademark for that style of glass home canning jar, and the word "Mason" can be seen on many Ball and Kerr brand jars.
