KVTT (1110 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Mineral Wells, Texas and serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is owned by Saumil and Poorvesh Thakkar, through licensee Decatur Media Land, LLC. It broadcasts a South Asian full service radio format, featuring Bollywood music, talk and news. Studios are located in Richardson along east Belt Line Road. By day, KVTT is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM radio stations licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. Cedar Hill, Texas
Cedar Hill is a city in Dallas and Ellis counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located approximately southwest of downtown Dallas and is situated along the eastern shore of Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Hill State Park. Per the 2020 United States census, the population was 49,148. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or " guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's large student population. Effective Radiated Power
Effective radiated power (ERP), synonymous with equivalent radiated power, is an IEEE standardized definition of directional radio frequency (RF) power, such as that emitted by a radio transmitter. It is the total power in watts that would have to be radiated by a half-wave dipole antenna to give the same radiation intensity (signal strength or power flux density in watts per square meter) as the actual source antenna at a distant receiver located in the direction of the antenna's strongest beam ( main lobe).
