Justin Bour
Justin James Bour (born May 28, 1988) is an American professional baseball first baseman who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies, and Los Angeles Angels. He has also played for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) and the LG Twins of the KBO League (KBO). Early life Bour was born in Washington, D.C. to Jim and Tracey Bour. His father was employed by the Secret Service and was mainly assigned to presidential detail. He also has two siblings, Jason and Jenna Bour. While living in Chantilly, Virginia, Bour attended Westfield High School. He helped lead the team to a division title. During high school, Bour played pitcher and first base. In high school, he earned first-team All-Met honors. He earned this title in 2006 after being named Honorable Mention All-Met selection his junior year in 2005. First Baseman
A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. Flexibility is needed because the first baseman receives throws from the other infielders, the catcher and the pitcher after they have fielded ground balls.
