Judy Morris
Judith Ann Morris (born 17 February 1947) is an Australian character actress, as well as a film director and screenwriter, well known for the variety of roles she played in 58 different television shows and films, starting her career as a child actress and appearing on screen until 1999, since then she has worked on film writing and directing, most recently for co-writing and co-directing a musical epic about the life of penguins in Antarctica which became ''Happy Feet'', Australia's largest animated film project to date. Early career Morris's first role came at the age of 10 when she was part of the cast of the television episode "Picture of the Magi" a '' Family Theater'' production which aired about 1957 on the Mutual Broadcasting System in the United States. ''Homicide'' was an Australian television police procedural drama series made by production firm Crawford Productions for the Seven Network. It was the television successor to Crawfords' radio series ''D24''. The "Consummate ''Homicide'' cast" includes the four characters that are the best known: Det. Snr. Sgt. David "Mac" MacKay ( Leonard Teale), Det. Sgt. Peter Barnes ( George Mallaby), Inspector Colin Fox ( Alwyn Kurts) and Sen. Det. Jim Patterson ( Norman Yemm). Jack Thompson, AM (born John Hadley Pain; 31 August 1940) is an Australian actor and a major figure of Australian cinema, particularly Australian New Wave. He was educated at University of Queensland, before embarking on his acting career. In 2002, he was made an honorary member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS). Jason Nelson Robards Jr. (July 26, 1922 – December 26, 2000) was an American actor. Phar Lap (4 October 1926 – 5 April 1932) was a champion New Zealand–bred Thoroughbred racehorse who is widely regarded as New Zealand's greatest racehorse ever. Achieving incredible success during his distinguished career, his initial underdog status gave people hope during the early years of the Great Depression. He won the Melbourne Cup, two Cox Plates, the Australian Derby, and 19 other weight-for-age races. One of his greatest performances was winning the Agua Caliente Handicap in Mexico in track-record time in his final race. ''Phar Lap'' (also released as ''Phar Lap: Heart of a Nation'') is a 1983 film about the racehorse Phar Lap. The film stars Tom Burlinson and was written by David Williamson. Plot A chestnut Thoroughbred horse called Phar Lap, known as Bobby by his strapper Tommy Woodcock (Tom Burlinson), collapses and dies in Tommy's arms at Menlo Park in California in 1932.
