Jonstrup
Jonstrup is a suburban neighbourhood situated in Furesø Municipality on the west side of Hareskoven forest in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. The original village has merged with the neighbouring villages of Måløv in Ballerup Municipality and Smørumnedre in Egedal Municipality to form an urban agglomeration with a population of 20,657 (2022). The neighbourhood is separated from Måløv by Mølledalen, Møllemosen, and Værebro å. History A textile factory was built in the village in the middle of the 18th century. It was destroyed in a fire in 1778 but reopened after being rebuilt in 1781. In 1809, it was converted into a teachers' academy, Jonstrup Seminarium, which moved to new premises in Kongens Lyngby in 1955. Conviently located close to the Værløse Air Base, the buildings in Jonstrup were then acquired by the Danish military and converted into the new Royal Danish Air Force Officers School. Jens Ernst Wegener
Jens Ernst Wegener (5 October 1781 - 15 October 1846) was a Danish educator and pedagogical writer. He was principal of Jonstrup Seminarium outside Copenhagen from 1819- to 1838. He was the father of painter Gustav Theodor Wegener. Early life and education Wegener was born in Odense, the son of Casper Frederich Wegener and Maren Jensdatter Staal. He later moved to Copenhagen. Career Wegener succeeded Jacob Saxtorph as principal of Jonstrup Seminarium in 1819. He retired in 1838. Hans Christian Andersen mentions him in ''Mit livs rejse''. Family Wegener married Birgitte Maria Bindesbøll (17971856), a sister of the architect Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll. They had four children: Karen Johanne Juliane Wegener, Gustav Theodor Wegener, Marie Sophie Lovise Lund and Jacobe Henriette Catharina Wegener. Hans Christian Cornelius Mortensen
Hans Christian Cornelius Mortensen (27 August 1856 – 7 June 1921) was a Danish teacher and ornithologist. He was the first to employ bird ringing for scientific purposes. Mortensen was born in Jonstrup on the island of Zealand, Denmark. After completing secondary school in 1874 he began studies in first theology and later in medicine and zoology at the University of Copenhagen without finishing any of these studies. He then worked as a schoolteacher at different schools in the Copenhagen area before, in 1888 and despite the lack of a university degree, became a master at the High School of Viborg in Jutland where he stayed for the rest of his life. From 1909 he held the post as a senior master. In 1891 he married Ingeborg Lemming (1858-1938), a fellow teacher and feminist who assisted him with his bird ringing. The couple had no children. Smørumnedre
Smørumnedre is a town and suburban area situated in Egedal Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark and forms part of Copenhagen's urban area. The original village has merged with the neighbouring villages of Måløv in Ballerup Municipality and Jonstrup in Furesø Municipality to form an urban agglomeration with a population of 20,657 (1 January 2022). The small and relatively undisturbed village of Smørumovre ("Upper Smørum") is located about 500 metres to the west of Smørumnedre while Lille Smørum("Little Smørum") refers to a group of scattered farms to the south. Værløse Municipality
Værløse was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') consisting of only ''one'' parish also named Værløse in the former Copenhagen County on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 34 km2, and in 2005 had a total population of 18,649. Its last mayor was Jesper Bach, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. He was the first mayor of the newly formed Furesø municipality. The community is connected by a road and a motorway and commuter railway to Farum to the north via an isthmus at Fiskebæk between Lake Farum sø and Lake Furesø. Måløv
Måløv is a suburb within Ballerup Municipality, closely attached to Smørumnedre approx. 20 km. west of Copenhagen, in the Capital region, with a population of 8,787 (2022). The suburb is made up by single-family houses and a housing project. 93% of the inhabitants are native Danes. The suburb is connected with the S-train and Måløv station serves commuters from both Måløv and Smørumnedre. Måløv is considered to be founded in 1193. Green areas Måløv has many green areas and fields around it. Ballerup Kommune () is a municipality ( da, kommune) in '' Region Hovedstaden'' on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark.
