''Jay Stay Paid'' is the fifth studio album by album by American hip hop producer and rapper J Dilla. It was released as a posthumous album on June 2, 2009, by Nature Sounds. Despite the fact that the album has contributing vocals from several artists, it is roughly classified as an instrumental hip hop album. Background The album is a 28-track collection of unreleased Dilla beats mixed and arranged by Pete Rock. Although ''Jay Stay Paid'' is mostly instrumental, it includes guests vocals from several artists that Dilla worked with or admired, such as Black Thought, Havoc, Raekwon, MF DOOM, and M.O.P. It was executive produced by Dilla's mother Maureen "Ma Dukes" Yancey along with the musical supervision of Dilla's musical idol, Pete Rock. Hip hop production is the creation of hip hop music in a recording studio. Mantronix
Mantronix was an influential 1980s hip hop and electro funk music group from New York City. The band was formed by DJ Kurtis Mantronik (Kurtis el Khaleel) and rapper MC Tee (Touré Embden). Kejuan Waliek Muchita (born May 21, 1974), better known by his stage name Havoc, is an American rapper and record producer. He was one half of the hip hop duo Mobb Deep with Prodigy. Biography Havoc was born in Brooklyn and raised in the Queensbridge Houses. He graduated from the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan, New York in 1992, where he met Prodigy. Derek Pike is an American filmmaker living in Los Angeles and known as a music video director. He is of half British and half Japanese-American descent. He has directed nearly 100 music videos working with artists including RedOne, Aloe Blacc, Wiz Khalifa, Moneybagg Yo, and XXXTentacion. The Beat Junkies is an American hip hop crew of DJs specializing in turntablism. Established in 1992 in Orange County, California by J. Rocc. As of 2014, The Beat Junkie Crew also host their own record pool, clothing line and radio station. The Beat Junkies opened their own DJ school in April 2017, located in Glendale.
