Iverson Award
The Iverson Award, more formally the Kenneth E. Iverson Award for Outstanding Contribution to APL, is presented by the Special Interest Group on APL (SIGAPL) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). It is presented to a person who has made significant contributions to the APL programming language or to the APL community. These contributions may be Technical (i.e. new developments in the APL language itself) or Service (assistance or support to SIGAPL or the APL community generally). The award consists of a plaque and a certificate, and is accompanied by a cash prize and a lifetime membership in SIGAPL. The award is named in honor of Kenneth E. Iverson, the creator of APL. Iverson Bracket
In mathematics, the Iverson bracket, named after Kenneth E. Iverson, is a notation that generalises the Kronecker delta, which is the Iverson bracket of the statement . It maps any statement to a function of the free variables in that statement. This function is defined to take the value 1 for the values of the variables for which the statement is true, and takes the value 0 otherwise. APL (named after the book ''A Programming Language'') is a programming language developed in the 1960s by Kenneth E. Iverson. Its central datatype is the multidimensional array. It uses a large range of special graphic symbols to represent most functions and operators, leading to very concise code. It has been an important influence on the development of concept modeling, spreadsheets, functional programming, and computer math packages. It has also inspired several other programming languages. Movie Ranch
A movie ranch is a ranch that is at least partially dedicated for use as a set in the creation and production of motion pictures and television shows. These were developed in the United States in southern California, because of the climate. The first such facilities were all within the studio zone, often in the foothills of the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Simi Valley in the U.S. state of California. Movie ranches were developed in the 1920s for location shooting in Southern California to support the making of popular western films. Finding it difficult to recreate the topography of the Old West on sound stages and studio backlots, the Hollywood studios went to the rustic valleys, canyons and foothills of Southern California for filming locations. "White Iverson" is the debut single by American rapper and singer Post Malone. It was released through Republic Records on August 14, 2015, as the lead single from his debut studio album, ''Stoney'' (2016). It was originally released on February 4, 2015, through Malone's SoundCloud account. Malone produced and wrote it alongside FKi 1st and Rex Kudo.
